The only issue I have is the Samsung is a D series which is a 2011 model why not the 2012 E7000 which is much improved It has better 3D full web browser and dual core cpu which helps a great deal with faster smart features and even helps the algorithms for the way the full array backlighting performs I had a d and now an E8000 the new E is much better,read AVS forums even though the 7&8000 series were great they suffered from brightness pops,banding,flashlight effects etc,The new clear image pro filter technology worked wonders on the issues of an already stellar LED.Sharp is good but Samsung Led is better for a fea reasons,however Sharp makes the best LED in the biz The new 2012 Sharp Elite series with pioneers award winning elite design.But its 5 grand and to me not worth 3x a 7000.The D is a great set but needs a few key tweaks to make it great,and I couldn't begin telling you settings on here,Find me on AVS pro forums I have the E 8000 thread and Panasonic 50 series also the calibration threads with before and after pics of a 7000&8000 when calibrated.The E series also has Samsungs new smart evolution kit,for hardware where you can swap cpu and memory thus you are guaranteed to add any new features in the next few years instead of having to buy a new tv! The real black pro panel and new ultimate smart dimming software algorithm are greatly improved over previous years and the 7 & 8000 have virtually the same picture quality.The * series has voice and gesture control and a new smart touch remote otherwise they are almost identical for performance purposes.After 1st turning on the samsung it will auto update the latest firmware and set up built in dual band wireless and then do a few tweaks and enjoy a stellar TV.After pro calibrating the Samsungs and the Panasonics we have gotten them within 5% of the gold standard,and nearly identical out put of Elites and tvs costing 4x as much.The great thing about Samsung is once you set it to movie mode and warm2 it looks really good without a 2 hour full cal,but that does make it better,as near to perfect as possible which is the tv should display what the director saw while filming.Sorry for so much info,I have tons more just go to AVS forums and do some reading,more info than you can imagine.Good luck and also haggle on price I paid 2500 for my 80000 with a free 3D blu Ray and 2 movies 4 sets of the new ultra sg4100 glasses,get a better deal and ENJOY it!

We bought a Samsung Series 8000 LED 55-inch HDTV,it shows that we are viewing in 1080i instead of 1080p.?

We are watching bluray discs in 1080p using a Sony PS3 which is capable of 1080p. So how can we calibrate our tv from 1080i to 1080p? Thank you so very much and bless your kind heart for giving us answers.
i looked at the ps3 settings and at "BD 1080p 24Hz Output (HDMI)" my choices are Automatic, Off and On. What shld I choose? i'm wondering why 24hz when my HDTV is 240hz. please advice. Ty so much.

Maybe your HDMI cable does not support it? The cheap old ones do not officially support 1080p. But check the settings in the Blu-ray player. It is probably set to 1080i.

if TBN didnt have hundreds of millions of people donating Money the whole tv evangelism wouldnt exist. its very expensive to run Tv Evengelism.

im not partial to some of the TBN services, but i have liked individual shows, from time to time, and christian movies, if done correctly do move the mind and soul to repentance. christian movies are underrated IMO

i have been embarrased by Tammy Baker and im sure others were embarrased by her husband and the guy who committed adultery, and the guy who claimed to being poisoned by praying over toxic ink and receipts. Many different types of preachers use the services and they are not evil money diggers. its best to go to the Library for free media check out.

since there are hundreds of millions of people donation several hundreds of millions of dollars, there are indeed many people who have christian beliefs that think this is all a good service.

when i was a teen, i was partial to CBN and the 700 club. praying with Pat Robertson, whom the national media and atheists Mock continually, he, led me in prayer and i was blessing with the visitation of angelci type personage. i am a witness of jesus, and though not joined to any church, the best church i think on the planet has to be a "christian" church, and i think, by personal revelation, i think, the LDS "mormon" church is the "only Ordained" offficial priesthood on the planet. They have their own Bonneville Media and sattelite system and do things in a much different way. more holiness give us, more Light, enligten us.

I know my redeemer lives, how sweet this sentence gives.

Bill Wirtz has passed away, are there positive things in store for the Blackhawks or just more misery?

For a little more clarification, the misery I truly speak of is the mistakes of Bob Pulford who was protected by the passed Wirtz to the cause of much aligned hirings of coaches and poor drafts. Dale Tallon is a great step forward but will Hawk Fans still have to deal will Bob.

Nothing will change. Peter Wirtz has been running the team for the last 10 years so I don't expect many changes at all. If any.

People forget that the Wirtz family rescued this team 50+ years ago
- they forget the Stanley Cup in 1961, the Finals appearances in 1971, 73, and 1992
- they forget that he was the key figure behind the NHL-WHA merger
- they forget his role in Hockey USA (which led to an Olympic bronze in 1976 and gold in 1980)

Time and time again, the team has been cited as a model example of how sports teams should be run.


Again, I may be a little biased, but unlike most (if not all) people on here. I know the Wirtz family, and I like them.

The entire family is very tight with a dollar. Their entire organization is run like a machine. Both Arthur and Bill loved hockey (I can't speak for Peter) but they weren't going to ruin themselves financially for it. Fans all the time complain that athletes are paid too much........the Wirtz family was one of those owners who agreed with the fans. If you wanted more than they thought you were worth....they sent you packing. The family has been very good to me. I'm sure that if you talk to Cam, he'll have positive things to say as well. Yes, a lot of the players were upset that the family wouldn't go out and sign 'over-priced' free agents.............but for the most part, Wirtz has seen many people go belly-up and the family (in his mind) has worked to hard to watch what they have fritter away. A lot of the $350+ million he has donated....came from the very fans who are roasting him now.


When the team was winning, the fans filled the arena. When the team loses, the fans don't. Chicago has done the same to the Cubs and the White Sox and 4 years ago, the Bulls finished dead last in NBA attendance. Hopefully this batch of young kids, and the NHL salary cap can revitalize the team to the glory of the the first 40 years the Wirtz family owned the team.

The Blackhawks are far from a small-market team. From an American city standpoint, they are the #2 team as far as apparel sales, revenue generation (behind the Red Wings), and #3 as far as local radio/TV deals (just no home games on TV) behind Detroit and New Jersey. Contrary to your assessment, last year's average attendance was just over 12,700 and was greater than the Chicago Wolves attendance of 7,566 last year
