i am looking at only 1080p TV's and i am choosing between a 60 hz and 120 hz processor, but most likeyl can only afford a 60 hz TV. Also what is a good contrst ratio for a LCD/LED tv?

Answer
The Vizio is a low end TV model. I would opt for a better brand.. The contrast ratio of TV's lately is more virtual than actual.. Would really be difficult to see the difference in most TV's.. I would look at brands like Samsung, LG or Panasonic. You can make any TV picture quality poor to good depending on the settings.. Stick to factory settings, and make minor changes from there, such as contrast, brightness and sharpness.

What is the difference between edgelit led, backlit led and edgelit backlit led and Vizio TruLED TV?

Deacon Blu

LG, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, & Vizio are the only ones that I know of that make some kind of LED TV but they all use a different term when they mention the LED lighting.
Which is better?

Answer
Generally...the most expensive ones are the best!

Those are usually the backlit LED TVs(a.k.a. local dimming). They have the highest contrast ratios and best picture qualities! Edge lit LEDs have problems with back light uniformity and have lower contrast ratios!

Vizio's "TruLED" TVs are just their marketing words for backlit LED TVs! Their "RazorLED" TVs are their version of the Edge-lit LED TVs!

Basically...if the LED TV is super thin...it's an Edge-lit! If it's super expensive and not so thin...it's a back lit!

I bought my LED TV Series 4 by Samsung in the fall and it was working exceptionally until about a week ago. I haven't watched for a week and a half and when i go to turn it on it won't work. It usually has a red light by the power button when not on, it is gone now. I also unplugged it a couple times to charge my iPod

Answer
It could be that you have fried your TV's power supply. If you have unplugged it when it was running you have increased that risk. If you have plugged it into outlet that was not surge-protected you have increased that chance.

If you bought it in the fall it should still be under one years manufacturers warranty (unless you have extended on from wherever you bought it). Give them a call and see what they can do for you.

I'm worried about dead pixels in a LED HDTV. Should I get the Best Buy extended warranty when puchasing the TV?

Craziee Pa

The LED HDTV LCD cost $2700.00. The extended warranty is $400 for 3 years.

Is it worth it?

Answer
Duh.
