Im planning on getting a big screen tv like maybe around 42 or so and I play video games alot. I know theres a few different kinds and some of them arent good for people that play video games because theres a high risk of burn in or something like that.

LCD or LED tv are safe for gaming. If you want better picture quality, deeper black and less power consumption, LED is your good choice but more expensive. If you want to save money then LCD TV are great to get.

I am in the market for a TV that I plan on mainly using for video games and Netflix.
Answer
If you're considering a screen size of 42 inches or larger, a plasma set is generally your best choice for use with a game box, because of the absence of fast-motion blur. The blurring problem is present on virtally every LCD or LCD-LED set to some degree.
If you need to have a smaller screen, look for an LCD or LCD-LED with the fastest possible response time (not over 4 ms. and 2 is better) and a refresh rate of 120 or 240 hz (100/200 in some countries).
