I have a budget of (under) $500. What TV should I buy?

Brad Clarc

And please leave a url. Thanks1

Answer
I would recommend you get a Panasonic Plasma tv. They are the most reliable tv in the market today. Panasonic has more tv being recommended than any manufacturer. Panasonic 42" S30 should be around the budget you have. If you read yahoo questions, you will notice that 95% of tv problems comes from LCD and LED tv and 95% of those are the bargain price tv. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for. Hope this will help you out.

What is the best T.V under 500$?

SaMeR

i 've been meaning to buy a tv and i have about 500 $ ... i like to buy a 3d tv and i found those plasmas
http://www.lg.com/us/tv-audio-video/televisions/LG-plasma-tv-42PW350.jsp
&
http://www.samsung.com/my/consumer/television/television/plasma-tv/PS43D490A1XXM/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail
but some people say that those tvs are only 720 p which is not good enough for xbox games and stuff ... so tell me what you recommend under 500 $ and i want big tv not less than 37'' ... also What is the difference between led 3ds and plasma 3d ... what's better ?

Answer
i dont think you could find a 3D tv for that price but i would get a 1080p LED tv. with high Hz 120 or more. Plasma tv look good but they dont really make plasmas under 40in. they lose quality over time and can have image burn in. and the diffrence is the technology led (light emmiting diod) are a combo of lcd wih led back lighting this makes higher color, contrast, and brightness and could last longer than lcd. plasma uses compressed gas to make the image.

Did i waste money buying a 32 inch full HD LED TV?

Q.

Answer
it depends on what you was looking for in a tv when you bought it. your tv is full HD, the only way to watch HD in all its glory. 32" screen size, is that large enough for you? seems 40" appears to be the norm size nowadays. i have a 32" full HD and it suits my every need.

Is this LED HD 3D TV a good buy? or should I pass?

ozJay

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170750361750

It's a generic brand (though they claim to use LG panels), and the specs I compared to lots of other top brands and they are pretty much the same, here's a small sample, more details in the link above:

TFT LCD SCREEN FEATURES:
1. 47 inch
2. 1920*1080
3. Panel A Grade LG 3D LED Panel
4. Aspect Ratio 4:3, 16:9
5. Brightness 450 cd/m2
6. Dynamic Contrast ratio 3000000:1
7. Response time 5 ms
8 .Display colors 1.06 Billion
9 .Viewing angle L/R/U/D 89/89/89/89 (178V, 178H)
10 .Refresh Rate 120Hz
Power Consumption < 170W (less than 1W on standby)

Plus it comes with 4 free 3D glasses :P not that I would really use that but I like to have the option anyway.

I was originally looking at a sony bravia, but it only had a 50/60hz refresh rate and wasnt getting great reviews, and was around the same price/size...

Thoughts?
And please provide details on why you think it is a good or bad buy if you do answer... I'd like to know why.

Answer
The specs themselves are good. The quality of a LG panel is good (although sony or samsung has a better 2D picture quality). The main advantage of a LG panel over Sony or Samsung is its passive 3D technology, which can be use with cheaper and more comfortable glasses (but at the cost of reducing by half the resolution).

However, the problems comes from being a generic brand. While the picture quality will be identical to the panel manufacturers, the rest of the components are generally of a lower quality. This means that the average lifetime of the TV is lower than main brands. Also (if you care about that), you don't get any Smart TV features (like youtube apps).

My advice would be to pay a little extra to get the real brand, it will be worth it in the long term, unless you like to change your TV every 3 years to always be up to date.

Is this temp good for my GPU?

Q. Im planning on building a new pc soon but this one im just wondering about.
So about 1 month ago, I was playing PES 2013 with my bluetooth controller and my pc connected to my 1080p 42 inch LED 120 Hz. ( giving all these details to detect the problem)
Anyways, after about 3 hours, i tried going into the desktop, and my computer suddenly gave me the infamous blue screen. I immediately thought overheating, but I was not sure if it was because I was playing connected to my TV.
Anyways, my PC has not never gave me problems playing other games such as Skyrim, far cry 3, or Pes 2013 while playing on the monitor before. Also I've not gotten a problem like that since then.
Maybe it was just an error that day? Maybe it is a problem?
I dont really know, that is why im asking.
Also, my GPU is an PNY NVIDIA Geforce 550 Ti, and according to speccy, it runs at 38-45 C idle.
Is this normal? Maybe I should remove it and apply more thermal paste. on sunday I opened up my pc and I tried to clean it by blowing air into it, (no compressed air here).
Anyways help?
Ha well my gpu goes to around 70C+ when gaming.
Also my cpu is 23C on idle :/

Answer
I got a blue screen on my pc the other day and it was not because of overheating. it is usually just because of an error in the software. The temps that you are getting are completely normal. A graphics card is supposed to run at full load at about 60 degrees plus. Much higher than a CPU. A CPU is meant to run at about 40 degrees. Hope this helped! Good luck!

Should I buy a Vizio TV?

Amanda

I'm considering buying a new TV & I'm looking at a Vizio.
I've read online that they are the number 1 LCD & HDTV company in America.
Have any of you purchased a Vizio, if so, what do you think?

Answer
I would not recommend this tv to anyone. They are a bargain price tv that is sold at department store only like Wal Mart, Target, Sam's Club and Costco. You get what you pay for. It is not the number one brand in the US. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs, along with the pro and con of each technology. You will notice that more Panasonic tv is recommended than any brand. You will not see any Vizio tv being recommended. If you read yahoo questions, you will notice that 95% of tv problems comes from LCD/LED and 95% of those are off bargain price tvs. Panasonic or Samsung is the brand to buy, for quality and reliability. Hope this will help you out.

Which is the best Samsung LED TV to get?

mig-2107

I am trying to look for a 40in. LED TV from Samsung. I cannot tell the difference between the UN40b7000/6000 and the LN40b7000/6000. Can anyone tell be the difference in terms of specs such as contrast ratio, 120/240hz motion engine, and response times between these TV's? I am trying to look for the one with good specs but not going over $2100.

Answer
First: There is no LN40B6000 or LN40B7000 in the official 2009 Samsung product line. The official product numbering for the LED HDTVs starts with the initials "UN".

Second: The only 40" LED TV announced by Samsung so far is the UN40B6000 (there is a UN46B6000, UN46B7000 and a UN46B7100 though).

Third: There is no difference in picture quality between the 6000, 7000 or 7100 nor is there a difference in refresh rates (120 Hz). The 7000 & 7100 add the content library, Internet TV & DLNA Networking over the 6000.

Fourth: The UB40B6000 lists for $2,299.99. Sears and Samsung have a 10% off deal for the next few weeks that can get you under your $2100 target.

whats the best 3d tv out there?

Anthony E

I'm looking to buy a 3dtv Ive heard led TV and 240htz and 1080p is the one to go with anybody no when to buy this kind of TV like time of year what seems to be the best one to buy and stuff like this thanks for the help oh i want one 50" or bigger or i might be able to settle for less if its really worth it thank you

Answer
I will give you my thoughts...

The LED 3D TV will offer the least power consumption over a plasma, but in my own opinion and experience, the best picture quality will always come from a plasma screen. the LED/LCD 3D TVs are LED backlit only, giving them good black levels, but picture can look quite washy.

The plasma screens are coated with anti-glare and the contrast ratios are upto 5,000,000:1 now, offering the best black/white levels. I could go on comparing their pro's and cons, but, to be honest, you should go and demo them in the shop.

The Panasonic TXP50VT20 is a superb 3D model. Panasonic uses the active glasses system, offering the best 3D experience of all the 3D systems around. Their plasma screens/TVs are (in my opinion) the best on the market, offering intelligent frame creation, isfccc, the THX setting (allowing 600Htz) etc, etc.. the list goes on.

As for when to buy, there coming down in price already. No doubt when you decide to buy, 2 weeks later it will be £100 cheaper... thats sods law for you. Your best bet though is to be on your toes and look around. Their not cheap... but new technology never is.

The TXP42GT20 is equally a great model (but only 42") they go for around £1000, but I bet you could find one cheaper if you look around.

I would highly recommend a 5yr warranty also (these are quite often thrown in as part of the purchase these days).... NOT BECAUSE OF UNRELIABILITY, only because, as everyone knows, things can go wrong with products that are used on a daily basis. thats all. The only reason I mention this is because if you spend a fortune on a TV and, heaven forbid - it goes faulty, then you dont wanna be stung with another bill.

Good luck, and enjoy which ever you decide upon.

What is the best TV following the requirements below?

Jeremy

Listed by importance.
Anti-glare,
Good view from different angles,
HDMI,
Good Audio.
Internet connection isn't absolutely necessary.
Size doesn't matter.

Answer
This may help you decide:

1. Anti-glare: avoid a plasma set.

2. Good from different angles: avoid an LCD or "LED" set (get a plasma set).

3. HDMI: just about any modern TV will have one or more HDMI inputs.

4. Good audio: just about *none* of modern TVs have really good audio. If that's of high importance, plan on using a sound bar or home theater system with it. That said, the best audio from internal speakers comes from those with speakers, in order of preference, (1) mounted in the front or (2) mounted on the back panel. Avoid anything with speakers mounted on the bottom edge--the worst possible audio.

Should I buy an LG TV Extended Warranty?

CJS

Bought an LCD Model 37LG30 in 11/2008. Works great and gets a lot of use. Didn't buy the warranty at time of purchase; retailer's warranty price was 30% of the product price. LG now is offering a 2-yr or 1-yr warranty for 17% or 8%, respectively. Not sure it's worth it since as fast as technology changes, would probably be buying again when this one wears out. Warranty experiences/opinions appreciated.

Answer
For LG LCD TV need not Extended Warranty.
as LG manufactures TV by OWN from End to End . use OWN LG Korea made LCD display panel . Quality is always under well control. LG products not only TV.more than 60 electronics items sold worldwide under LG trademark . ( use to be under Lucky Gold Star before 1996 ) . all are RELIABLE ! LG TV ( CRT/LCD ) failure rate is less than 2 % in 8 years. save some money for next 5 years to own a LED TV from LG . that time LED TV costs will be 40-50 % less !

what company makes long lasting lcd/led tvs?

Gail

A tv that will last longer than 1 year.

Answer
Samsung makes the best LCD and LED tvs. If you want to be sure it keeps working buy an extended warranty and you won't have to worry. They normally last 5 to 7 years but that is very dependent on care and amount of use each day.

How do you connect your 3d glasses (ssg-5100gb) that came w/ my 72" samsung LED F8000 2013 tv?

Lauren Fri

How do you connect your 3d glasses (ssg-5100gb) that came w/ my 72" samsung LED F8000 2013 tv? We followed all direction to activate glasses by putting battery chip + side up and holding top button down for 3 seconds. We already had the 3D movie playing before we even set up glasses. We tried the entire brand new set with each new battery & nothing? Is there anything were missing?

Answer
In order to get it to work the TV needs to be in 3d mode. You don't even need a 3d movie. Just hit the 3d button on the remote to turn on 3d. Then the glasses should turn on.

Plasma vs. LCD vs. LED... which is the best?

.

I've been looking at getting a new TV... possibly a Samsung 64-70 inch... 1080p HD 600Hz, 3D Smart TV Internet enabled, etc, basically as top notch as a TV can get now days.

But there's something I'm not sure about... what's best... Plasma, LCD or LED displays? By best... I mean best picture, longest lasting, etc.

Thanks for your replies!

Answer
Hello! LG WRman Sherlock here!

First, I want to clear up some confusion: LED TVs are essentially LCD TVs with LEDs as a back light source. Traditional LCD TVs use CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lights) as a back light source. All LED TVs are LCD TVs, but not all LCD TVs are LED TVs. Get it? Alright, moving on!

Now that we got that out of the way, there are only 2 choices in your question: Plasma vs. LED. LED LCD TVs are much better in every way over CCFL LCD TVs, so I immediately ruled them out. There are two things that plasma TVs have going for them: excellent black levels and super-fast response times. The pros for LED TVs are much brighter picture and much less energy consumption. This is not to say that the picture quality for LED TVs are not good -- they are good, but plasmas are generally considered better. However, with plasma TVs, the picture is not very bright, so you won't be able to see a clear picture if they are viewed in a brightly-lit room. One person said that plasmas have an issue with burn-in -- ignore this person. Burn-ins were a big problem when they first came out, but now they are hardly a problem; just make sure you don't keep a still image for too long on your plasma TV for the first 200 hours or so of its life. If you do, you may get a problem with image retention (completely different from burn-in), which will wash out, but may take some time. With all this said, plasmas are the way to go for now in terms of the best picture quality, but LED TVs win out in terms of all-round performance. Plasma TVs are, unfortunately, getting closer to the end of its life. It will eventually be succeeded by OLED TVs in the coming years.

If you are looking to get a TV with all the latest bells and whistles, I would suggest waiting for a bit until the 2013 models of TVs come out this year in March. There are a lot of new technologies in store -- namely 4K TVs and OLED TVs. If you want the best of the best, look out for LG in 2013 with the next generation of TVs. LG has 4K and OLED TVs in store for 2013!

LG WRman Sherlock, out!

do they manufacture 1080 p led lcd tvs?

Jean C

i was interested in purchasing a 1080p led-lcd tv with a 32"screen.

Answer
LED tv are in the 40" and larger. If you want a 32" you are looking at an LED tv. There are plenty of manufacturers who produce 32" LCD tvs in the market today. The brand you should look at is Samsung and Panasonic they are the most reliable tv in the market. They also have the best viewing angle than the bargain price tvs. Also keep in mind that you can not see the difference between 720P and 1080P in screen smaller than a 46". The source for 1080P is the Blu Ray disc movies and some video games, tv program in HD are only in 720P (some disc network provider will up convert the signal to 1080P. You will also pay more for a 1080P than the 720P. Hope this will help you out.

which is the best TV, LED or LCD?

babuvakkom

Answer
LED TV ( LCD-LED BACK LIGHT ) is refine and improvement from LCD TV ( LCD-CCFL BACK LIGHT ) . LED TV better in colour display / more brightness / contrast, better viewing angle / more smooth pictures / 40 % less energy - power consumption compare to LCD TV except much more in prices.
LCD TV general good in prices , affordable to every once .
However , Due to products quality - designs and parts use. not all LED TV are really better than LCD TV.
too many " off brand " budget brand LED TV in the market are low quality, don't reached LED TV quality except prices. Samsung / LG / Sony / Sharp / Panasonic / Toshiba great in LED and LCD TV.
remember , both LED / LCD TV come with full range of models - entry level / mid end / hi end models to meet consumers budget and requirement. please compare " apple and apple ". an low end LED TV will not provide Hi End LCD TV performance and pictures quality for sure.
LED TV better than LCD TV is based on " technically ' on paper - subject to maker quality , is also mean - budget master the " best ". all depends to what prices you paid for ? - brand / maker - models ( entry level / hi end models ) make great different.

Can i use a LED TV with my computer, instead of a Computer Monitor?

primer___

Answer
Yes (possibly) if your computer is a laptop it should either have a VGA, HDMI, or S-VIDEO inputs and your TV should have one of those also. Just wire up whichever wire both devices support and Windows Vista & Windows 7 will both automatically recognize the TV as a monitor.

Now if you have a desktop PC depending on how new it is or if it has an actual graphics card or not it may only have one port (VGA or DVI). If it only has one port run the corresponding cord to the TV. If it has multiple ports you can use multiple monitors /tv's together.

i had gotten a Roxio game capture unit and it is incompatible with my tv. I have a 32" LED westing house this unit requires YPbPr Componet cables(the blue green and red ones) my tv does not have these. Although it has a input on the remote it does not have the input on the back of the tv please help.
Maybe there is a converter or a box that gives the ports i dont have. I have 1 avi port and 2 hdmi HELP!!

Answer
You need to be more specific about which model Westinghouse you have.

HOWEVER!

A quick scan around the net suggests that modern Westinghouse LED TVs ALL have conventional Video/audio input/output facilities including VGA, Composite Video and HDMI

Interface: 1 x coaxial, 1 x composite, 2 x HDMI, 1 x VGA, 1 x PC audio-in, 3 x audio-in (2 x RCA), 1 x digital optical out (SPDIF), 1 x AC Power In: 1

Maybe those interface sockets ate HIDDEN behind a removable panel, but they will be there.

Have a check in the User Manual, or if you don't have it check http://westinghousedigital.com

Is the Samsung un46d6000 LED Smart TV 120 hz?

jay

If so, why is that every time I turn it on or pop in a Blu-Ray disc on my PS3, it says @ 60hz or sometimes even 24hz? What must I do to ensure that it constantly plays movies and television at 120hz?
ok, so how do i set it to 120hz? i don't see the option to change that setting!

Answer
Remember. It's the TV that's 120hz, NOT the PS3.

And if the Bluray is coming at 24hz that's FANTASTIC! That means 24 progressive frames a second, (just like the movie theatre) no pull down, no Bullcrap. That's what you want to see!

If you'll do you grade 2 math, you'll remember that 120 / 24 = 5. Because it divides evenly into 120, meaning that every frame can be displayed the same number of times, with NO 3:2 pull down. That's PERFECT!

Each frame appears five times, so it is 120hz on the TV screen, but there is no conversion going on!
Let me stress, that's PERFECT, don't try to fix that. That's EXACTLY what you want.

One thing you have to understand is the difference between the INCOMING signal, and what's being displayed by the TV.

The source will NEVER be above 60hz, (in the case of blurays it may be as low as 24hz) unless it's a 3D movie / player.

The TV is 120hz, and what makes it special is the ability to FAKE the 120hz from the 60hz source.

It does this either by "frame interpolation" sometimes called motion flow, motion plus (or something like that) or by frame doubling.

Frame interpolation works like this, it takes 2 frames and invents a third fake frame, that goes between the two real ones. This is why 120hz sets often look "too real", or "fake" or "plastic" or like "soap operas". This is also why games lag on a 120hz set, as the TV needs time to make that middle frame.

The second, frame doubling, is just what it sounds like. Every frame in the 60hz signal is shown twice. (This should not cause lag, and may be under your "game mode"). Again, in the case of moves at 24hz, each frame is shown 5 times).

Again, your Bluray, will NOT EVER output above 60hz. 60hz is normal. You'd paid extra for a TV that does the abnormal thing of changing that 60hz signal into 120hz signal. But your bluray, your video games, your DVDs, and your cable box, were only ever designed to output at 60hz (or less).

Hope this helps.

should I buy an LED tv?

R

or will the price go down soon? I found that I can get around a 40 inch LED from walmart for $800. Kinda don't wanna get a regular LCD after I've seen the new ones

Answer
LED TV ( LCD-LED back-light ) is refine of LCD TV. it much better pictures quality / smooth pictures than LCD TV.
However , too many " off brand " LED TV on the market , is low quality LED TV. use 5ms Response time LED display panel.. really not worth that prices.
LED TV . go for Samsung / LG / Sony / Sharp , there use quality LED display panel . 2 ms Response time for Mose of the models. with 120 HZ refresh rate really smooth pictures .
Prices for any electronics items always " drop " every six months.
LED TV prices , of course will become much cheapest , but don't forget, new technology keeps coming. soon .. may be other TV maker use Sharp " quattron " RGB+Y technology ( as this moment , only Sharp use that , is great in colour display )
if you paid less for LED TV in next six months, that time you may think about new technology.LED TV ? and wait for another six months again .....no end !
Regular LCD TV prices also " drop " after another six months. TV maker swift to LED TV .

Good tv for gaming? Xbox 360?

Lawrence M

I want a new TV. My current one has HORRID refresh rate. What a CHEAP, SMALL, DOES NOT HAVE TO 1080 P HD!!!!!!! Needs to be a least 720 p

Answer
If you want a good refresh rate, I'd highly recommend getting a plasma tv. They are actually cheaper to make than LED, and therefore cheaper for us to buy. I just bought a 43' from Best Buy for $500 and it's amazing. The black levels it can put out are so much better than the LCD I was playing on previously.

I'm not sure what your price range is. I know you said cheap, but that's kind of a hard word to define when it comes to tv's. If you go with LCD or LED, your refresh rate at the best will probably be 120Hz, with most of them under the 32' range being 60Hz (which isn't what you want). Plasma is 600Hz... 5 times better. And for gaming, black levels is what you want. Plasma is superior to LED in that field.

LED tv 26 inch or 32 inch?

Alexis

i want to get a cheap tv but a good one the ones i'm thinking about are a vizio E320VP or a lg 26le5300 and does it make a big difference 6 inches

Answer
Both HD READY 720 P LED TV ( LCD-LED BACK LIGHT )
E320VP is an basic entry level models . just okay for general movies. but the ( very slow ) 9 ms response time and 60 HZ refresh rate really bad to sports movies - any moving image cause ' motion blur ". if you like sports movies / games, keep away .you regret it .
http://www.e320vp.us/
Vizio don't made TV by own.
http://www.forbes.com/2009/05/21/taiwan-vizio-amtran-exports-lcd-tv.html?feed=rss_business
Lg 26le5300 is also 60 HZ refresh rate but lower 2.4 ms response time.
http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-tvs/lg-26le5300/4507-6482_7-34027525.html?tag=mncolBtm;rnav
ouy eye will not getting uncomfortable to motion blur from small 26 inc LCD TV , ( 32 inc - YES ) 60 HZ refresh rate is good enough to 26 inc that is the reason- you don't get 120 HZ refresh rate from 26 inc.also LG select own made Quality 2.4 ms response time display panel to provide smooth pictures.
compare LG to Vizio . LG always better quality and reliable, because LG designs and manufactures TV by own from ene to end . but Vizio good in prices.
for quality / smooth pictures also reliability. LG 26LE5300 .
for " big " in small prices ( extra 6 inc )- of course Vizio , but don't except to get the same quality and smooth pictures like LG 26LE5300. remember - 9ms response time with 60 HZ refresh rate for 32 inc is very bad to sports movies- any moving image,

What are the best picture settings for a Sansui LED TV?

Kyle

I got it free from a nice old lady and I don't need it perfect, it is a Sansui 22" SLED2280.

Answer
The best settings for any TV are those that cause its gray scale
to be as close to perfect as possible.

No two TVs, even of the same model,
are likely to look the same with the same numerical settings.

You could pay an ISF-certified technician $300 or more to calibrate the set.

A less costly, but less accurate, method is to use a setup disc
(DVD or Blu-Ray; $20 to $50) to optimize the image quality yourself.

If you use a setup disc, follow the instructions to the letter.

LED TV vs. LED Monitor?

joey222

I currently have a MacBook Pro and I'm looking into setting up a docking station for it so I can use it as a desktop. However I don't intend on paying $999 for the Apple thunderbolt display, so thats not an option. My question is I have a 26" LED 1080p tv, and when I hook up my mac with HDMI through thunderbolt its great for movies, but thats about it. I've fooled around with the TV settings and computer settings and can't really get a good quality from using other apps/browsing internet. I'm looking at getting a monitor to hook it up as a desktop however I don't want to spend $200 if there isn't a difference between an LED monitor and an LED TV. The monitor is a view sonic 24" LED and has HDMI connection.

So would the display on the monitor be better than on the TV? Not sure what the real difference is and I don't want to waste money on a monitor if its the same thing. Please help out, some input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer
first of all, make sure that the 24 inch led viewsonic really has an hdmi connection. i bought one of those and it ended up not having an hdmi connection. read the reviews and double check.

then check the specifications on both the tv and the monitor. specially check the refresh rate because it will have an effect on picture quality. if you're not worried about quality, then it is really up to you. it really won't be any different, functionality wise except for the fact that, you have one extra feature for the tv, you can plug in a cable and watch cable tv. if the tv is cheaper, i would go for the tv rather than the monitor

What is better Plamsa, LCD, or Full Array LED?

I'm looking to buy a 1080p 46ish inch tv. Plasmas appear to have the best looking color, but the one my Mother has in the living room has a faint speckling noise that is noticeable a foot away.

I'm looking for the best looking tv for blu rays and video games.

Answer
Plasmas seem to be better, I have a newer (2011) one- Panasonic Vierra. I don't have burn in or ghosting yet, and I play video games on it (it was a big concern of mine).

Samsung 64inch plasma vs samsung 60inch LED TV?

Chris Prin

Cant decide on which TV to get:

http://www.harveynorman.com.au/samsung-64-series-8-full-hd-plasma-tv.html
Or
http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cannington/Samsung_60%22_152cm_full_HD_LED_LCD_100Hz_3D_TV_UA60ES6500M

Will be the main family TV in a 60 square meter room with quite a bit of direct sunlight into the room, it will also inside an alcove.

We watch a lot of sports (soccer, F1, AFL and basketball mainly), movies and standard televison.

The plasma is a series 8 model which is the 2012 model while the LED is the 2011 model.

Please help
Cheers
Thanks

We currently sit about 3.5/4 meters away depending if the chairs are reclined so hopefully its just far enough.
Also which would have the better picture quality?
With blinds shut or at night would the plasma be a better choice?

Answer
A Display
First, youâll need a 3D-ready displayâwhether itâs a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.

A Source
Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but youâll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.

3D Content
3D contentâthe actual entertainment, in other wordsâwill be played back using the source mentioned above, whether itâs a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.

3D Glasses
For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered âactive shutterâ glasses, others polarized âpassiveâ glasses. Youâll need one pair per viewer, and theyâll have to be compatible with your display, whether theyâre the same brand, or a pair of âuniversalâ glasses designed to work across brands.

HDMI Cable
To connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, youâll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality.

which is the best TV, LED or LCD?

LED Spotlight Bulb TV Power Consumption?

Q. people heard about how the technology behind LED Spotlight Bulb TV gives us that high quality images on the screen. With the campaign on environment conservation, I guess people want to know how LED Spotlight Bulb TV compares with LCD or Plasma in terms of power consumption.

Answer
LED Spotlight Bulb 's uses about one third of the power that plasma requires. You can see the website, http://www.herostart.com/. Why do you think they have taken over the flashlight market, the light is brighter and it lasts longer due to low consumption.

should I buy an LED tv?

R

or will the price go down soon?

WHICH HAS BETTER OVERALL TV PICTURE QUALITY: LCD, LED, OR PLASMA?

The Q Man

And WHY?

Answer
There is no one answer. Plasma once had the most brilliant colors and clarity, but the latest model LCD (including LED) sets are, in many examples, equal or better.

"LED" sets (actually LCDs with a more modern type of backlighting) are the latest technology and, potentially, can supply the best picture. But an excellent quality LCD set, with conventional backlighting, can and in many cases does provide superior quality over a mediocre "LED" set.

Superior quality varies from model to model among different manufacturers. You need to look at the professional lab tests of specific models, like from Consumer Reports, then read a lot of owner reviews (i.e. Amazon, etc.). Anyone who says one type or one brand is absolutely the best across the board is not well informed.

Fact; Israel destroyed the USS Liberty in 1967; 34 American marines died, 350 injured and the U.S congress has not investigated yet

SN Cloud; i recieved this link that supports ur statments; http://prince.org/msg/105/271100/ last updated 2008, but according to all its 100% factual

Answer
Definitely.

Here's some examples that are much more recent. Last year, the Yankees rescheduled a Friday night home game to Friday afternoon because really religious Jews wouldn't be able to watch the game on TV that night. I'm not sure which holiday it was though. Btw, the schedule change was decided only a few days before the game was played.

Pick any random 10 large corporations that trade publicly & are based in the US. Look at the corporate officers & you'll always see last names that end with "-stein" or "-witz" or other common Jewish endings. Now every religion/culture has smart & dumb people & hard-working/lazy people. It's amazing though how for some reason the top jobs in nearly every organization are White or Jewish with a token woman or colored person.

Take a look at the US constant defense of Israel when the UN & rest of the world says Israel has gone too far. There's states (like Texas) where Jews would not even be able to live peacefully in most of it's interior BUT the politicians from that same state scream loudly in support of Israel.

George Bush (the son who took over after Clinton not the father) who joined the Coast Guard so he can avoid putting his life on the line when the US was @ war claims he'd be willing to grab a gun & defend Israel himself if they needed help.

Nearly every movie & tv & radio company has Jews in the highest corporate positions.

For publicly traded companies, the names are public info. so you can easily look it up yourself.

Israel lobby is considered one of the most established & most powerful lobbying forces in Washington.

If you look back to when Hillary Clinton first conceded victory to Obama, the very first thing she did immediately afterward (along with the rest of the Democratic Party) was proclaim Obama & the Democratic Party is still an ally of Israel.

Obama has preached change but when it comes to the middle east, the US backs Israel just as strongly as the George Bush Jr., Bill Clinton, George Bush Sr,. Ronald Reagan, etc.... No matter who is president & no matter which party has control of the senate or congress, US support for Israel has NEVER wavered.

Even when the UN demanded that a committee be put together to investigate what happened when the Israel military killed those civilians on the aid ship ..... US is pushing for the investigative committee to be led by Israel .... this is from Obama ... the man who claims to bring change ....

India & Pakistan have nuclear weapons but they've never faced the sanctions that Iran is facing now from the US. Why is that ????? It's because Iran presents a much stronger threat to Israel than India or Pakistan.

US political leaders claim that Israel is constantly under attack but there was mass genocide going on in Africa. Mass raping, mass murder, massive numbers of children forced to work for diamond & oil companies (which were US & Britain owned by the way). Yet there was no desire on the US government to help these poor people who were under fire to the point where they were killed by the tens of thousands. Enough deaths to rival the holocaust but the US didn't care. However, when Israel claims they must defend themselves, the US screams "YES THEY MUST!!!! ISRAEL IS THE VICTIM ... LEAVE THEM ALONE !!!"

The US has been in Israel's back pocket for decades. Before most of us were born & it will be that way long after we're dead.

Israeli Lobbying controls the US politicians & Jewish owned media companies control the masses. If you have cameras all over the world, it's easy to find something you're looking for.
=====
Examples of biased media coverage in the US that don't involve the middle east:

For example, in the US if you read the paper, you would think only white girls get kidnapped from their families, right? I don't recall a national headline for a young black girl ... ever ...

When Colombine happened there were plenty of US citizens which live in inner cities which were happy. The only way gun-control laws will ever be passed to help inner cities is if more incidents like Colombine happen & people lose lives where violent death isn't supposed to occur. However, that would never get shown.

====

US basically took out Iraq's government & made the oil company previously owned by Dick Cheney one of the largest companies in the world. No weapons of mass destruction found but for some reason this fact just doesn't seem to generate headlines in the media. Everyone says we had no choice but when France & Germany saw the same evidence that the US claimed was legit, they claimed "BS".

There's so many people claiming that Israel is constantly under fire. Yet most people I meet from the middle east describe life in Gaza as similar to a 3rd world country. Also, nobody is mentioning that Israel is constantly illegally seizing land from the Palestinians & telling them to "shoo away".

=====
Now does this mean Israel is 100% evil & the muslims are 100% victims ... of course not !!!

The truth always lies between what two arguing people claim to be the truth. There's blame on both sides of the of the Israeli conflict, however news & political support from the US has consistently been strongly biased to make it seem all sins occur on only one side.

====
Now consider that the US has been lending financial, political, military support to Israel to suppress it's Muslim neighbors for DECADES. How can anybody be surprised that some radical Muslims decided to strike this country.

If the US had done the same exact thing but instead all that support was for Palestine, then rest assured there would have been a 9/11 attack from radical Jews.

waht is father name of amitabh bacchan?

Answer
Here is all the info on Amitabh Bachchan.

Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11th 1942 in Allahabad, India to the famous legendry poet-n-writer Harivansh Rai Bachchan and mom Teji Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchanâs real name is Amit Srivastav and is a Libran by birth. Amitabhâs dad used Bachchan as his pen name and later it was passed on to his son in heritage. Amitabh Bachchan has pursued his academics in Allahabadâs High School and later moved to Nainital to join Sherwood College and achieved his degree in art however; he continued his scholarly journey by graduating with a degree in science from Kirori Mal College in Delhi. Amitabh Bachchan after completing his studies, found a job in Kolkata in a shipping company. Later Amitabh quit his job and came to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. He became a radio announcer and his Bollywood debut movie was âSaat Hindustaniâ that was a debacle at the box office. After struggling for five years, Amitabh got his first superhit âZanjeerâ. Amitabh Bachchan started dating actress Jaya Bahaduri. After his nerve wrecking performance in âDeewarâ in 1975, Amitabh was tagged with his new image of the angry young man. The actor got married to Jaya when his career was at itâs peak. The couple has acted in many movies like âAbhimaanâ, âSholayâ, âSilsilaâ and âKabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghamâ. Amitabhâs romance with actress Rekha was the cause of the rift between Amitabh and Jaya however; the romantic fling didnât last long. Amitabh and Jaya have two kids, daughter Shweta and son Abhishek Bachchan. In 1983, while shooting for Manmohan Desaiâs âCoolieâ, Amitabh met with an ill-fated accident that ruptured his intestine. The actor recovered and completed the shoot of his movie. In 1984, Amitabh took a break from Bollywood and joined Congress Party on persuasion from Political Leader Rajiv Gandhi however; his political calling didnât last long as he got involved in Bofors Scam and had to quit politics. This incident also led to bitter relations between the Gandhiâs and the Bachchanâs.

After failure in politics, the actor made his comeback in Bollywood but couldnât recreate the same magic. After a series of flops, he finally tasted success with âAgneepathâ and âHumâ. Amitabh Bachchan launched his company ABCL-Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited in the early 1990âs and hosted Miss World in India. The actor also ventured into production as he produced his first venture âTere Mere Sapneâ which was a hit. Consecutive three movies however; failed which led ABCL to bankruptcy. The new millennium however; changed thing for Amitabh Bachchan, who was famous as âBig Bâ by then. His TV show âKaun Banega Crorepatiâ broke all TRP records and movie âMohaabtienâ was a big hit thus, proving that fans loved the matured Bachchan. Since then Big B has been the busiest star in Bollywood. The actor worked day and night to pay off the ABCL debts. Amitabh Bachchan endorses some of the biggest brands Dabur, Cadbury, ICICI bank, Maruti Versa, Reliance Infocomm, Parker Pens and Reid and Taylor Suits. The actor is also a goodwill ambassador to UNICEF as well as a brand ambassador for IIFA which is Indiaâs first International Bollywood awards. Amitabh Bachchan is only Indian actor to find a place in the prestigious Madam Tussuads wax museum in London. Big B is Indiaâs most successful comeback story.

How to get audio to headphones from my TV?

Kreyn

Hello all, I just bought a new TV (Link is below) and was wondering about how I can get the TV to play though headphones. I just a pair of USB headphones (Logitech G35 Gaming headset) or a pair of regualar music headphones with a normal plug (3.5mm I think). How would I go about getting these to work with my TV? Can I just plug the USB ones into the USB port? Reason for this is my room is right under my parents and need to try and keep noise level down at night.

Also, another thing would be plugging into a pair of computer speakers that could be location right behind my bed so the sound is coming from right by me instead of halfway across the room.

Thanks for any ideas!!

How to return sound on Led TV?

anita k

My samsung Led Tv has no sound. When I put the volume on, it shows the headphones are on while its not. How can I return the Tv speakers on? Please help

Answer
Check your audio menu. Some TVs have a setting there to deliver sound to the headphone jack instead of the speakers. You may have to make the change with your remote in the menu.

Your Samsung user's manual should explain that somewhere.

Which would be best Plasma or LCD TV?

Riki

I'm considering buying a big screen 50-55" TV. Plasma prices seem lower but one friend tells me in the long run LCD would be the best . Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Answer
In terms of picture and performance, plasma is the way to go....Great colors and blacks, no blurr or lag on fast motion, no refresh rates needed, burn-in issues have been addressed, extreme viewing angle...both above, below and way off to the sides..! Contrary to false posts, plasma is by far better than any LCD/LED that both have a very slow response time, and poor off to the sides viewing, along with the annoying fast motion problems. Plasma also has the same lifespan as any other TV.! If you go with LCD or LED, you need to buy one with a refresh rate of at least 120 hz. However, the refresh rate, if not turned off during movies and some other shows can cause weird, jumpy artifacts that get annoying.. I have both LED and plasma...No comparison..Plasma is best.. hands down.. They use a bit more power than LED, but not excessive... Ask questions on above at a store like Best Buy with an experienced sales rep..

I just bought a new 55 inch lg 55 lw5600?

chris f

It's amazing. Everything works great except...I put a regular non blu ray dvd in. It seems to be really jumpy when there is any kind of fast motion. What could be causing this? It's not smooth at all. I'm assuming it's a setting on the television itself

Answer
LCD or LED TVs are not capable of showing fast moving smooth. It would be better if you had purchased plasma which cost half.

It has got nothing to do with setting. Call techie guy from LG.

And besides, when will 3d tv prices be low?

All current TVs marketed as "LED" are just LCDs with LED backlight. The should have standard flat-panel mounting options, which is VESA mount holes a standard mount can bolt to, or a stand on the bottom.
