sony tv ???????????????????

Sam

ok so is it really worth it to buy a sony 3d tv for $2000+ or a normal full hd 120hz sont lcd tv for under $1200 and is led better than lcd when watching normal tv and blu ray

Answer
It all has to do with what you want and how much you want to spend. I suggest going to a "big box" store and comparing model, price, and clarity of picture. Then pick what you like and can afford.
I personally would love a 3D set but think the price is way too high. LED TV is great but also too high in price. Eventually the LED will completely replace LCD backlighting and will lead the pack until the 3D prices come down.

What's the best 55" LCD TV for under $1500? Any recommendations would be appreciated.?

Maximumdvd

I need to get a larger screen for the family room, so I'm in the market for a 55" to 60" TV. I am primarily interested in image Quality and internet connectivity. I am considering LCD TVs because as bright as Plasmas are, I can't stand being able to actually see the pixels when I look at the TV.

From my experience, plasmas seem to look better the farther away you are from it. I haven't shopped for a TV in a couple of years so perhaps the technology has improved. So I am interested on recommendations for a flat panel TV in the 55" to 60" range with internet connectivity (netflix viewing). 3D is ok, but not necessary, as I'm not a fan of the headaches they produce over long periods of watching. Any help withe make and models would be appreciated so I can narrow my search.

Answer
Samsung is the number one consumer electronic now. And they have great quality. But the best quality picture now is LED not LCD, it is even brighter, clearer, and can handle faster action with no blur. It does cost more but it is the best. But brand wise I would go Samsung.

best gaming tv with little to no lag?

jackdaniel

Looking to get a new led lcd tv around 52" 1080p 240hz im not interested in 3d at all. Just looking for the best one with the least lag also dont want to push the budget over 1500.00 usd thanks everyone. main game played cw3 for ps3. And allot of first person shooters.
Yes the tv itself will lag do some research, running with hdmi cable already.....

Answer
I was under the impression that to reduce lag in games you needed to deactivate all video processing enhancements including 240Hz. One of the recommendations I read was using the VGA input instead since there is usually less processing done on the VGA input.

What's a good soundbar for my 26 inch LED Tv?

highground

I just got the Vizio E260MV 26 inch LED tv for one of the rooms in my home. I want to purchase a soundbar or small powered speakers for it. I was looking at the VIZIO VSB200 soundbar, but it's too big at 39 inches. I am looking for something more suitable for a 26 inch tv and that uses an optical audio cable to connect. Something less than $200.

Answer
There are a bunch of sound bar reviews from this link. Unfortunately, sound bars typically are sized for 37-40" TVs and bigger. I think in each review, the author does list the bar's dimensions.

Screen problem with LG Led TV 55 inch?

Larhalt

hi! In the past few weeks I started to notice a division exactly at the center of my LG 55inch led tv, it's like a small variation on the brightness and contrast between the left and the right sides of the screen (I believe this might be because since the tv screen is so large maybe it is made of 2 separate screens, i get that) but its getting on my nerves and I think it might be some sort of malfunction.. sometimes it isn't noticeable while others it can be seen from miles away! I don't know if I'm explaining myself (sorry, english isn't my mother language)... do you know if this is a problem?? should I have the TV checked??

Answer
That is absolutely not normal, you dont say if it's under warranty,if so call LG for service repair. If not look up on the forums or google your issue.LG and LED have many common issues wuth backlight problems brightness pops level color uneven brightness etc.

You have either a lighting algorithm issue or an electronic board issue there are 3 boards on that TV and voltages should be checked.

Actually the whole set up should be tested and adjusted by a Professional.

what does 120hz razor led mean?

licious

I am trying to decide which tv to purchase. Vizio Razor LED Smart TV or Samsung LED Smart TV. The issue is I don't know what razor led mean for the Vizio. I know 120hz CMR mean that in reality it is only 60hz for the Samsung. I would normally go for the Samsung TV because brand has been around for a very long time and it's good reputation with electronic but not really familiar with Vizio which is being considered due to many friends who have bought the TV and is happy with their purchase.

Confused 8{

Answer
That is the refresh rate for the picture. Such as a soccer game and all the action of the ball moving. A 120hz is much better than a 60hz and a 240hz is better than a 120hz. The better the refresh rate, the better the picture, but you will pay more for the higher refresh rate. 60hz is a bare bones tv and not very good with fast action scenes.. As far as comparing a Vizio to a Samsung, Vizio is made in California and Samsung is made in South Korea. Vizio cost less. It really doesn't matter which one is better. Both are excellent brands. If cost is the main deciding factor, go with the Vizio.

Which Samsung TV should i get!?

Amore

don't mind price so much, just not crazy expensive! i don't know if i should get a LED or Plasma??? and also it has to be at least 46 inch for my living room size???

Answer
Samsung UN46EH6000 46-Inch 1080p 240 CMR LED HDTV e picture is nice and sharp. Out of the box, it was set to "dynamic" color mode which I found so bright it washed out the picture. I set it to "standard" color mode, and it fits my environment just fine. If I upgrade from my yellow light bulbs to white, I may change my color settings. I haven't tried the "game" color mode yet; though, "standard" seems to work fine for the range of games I've tried on Steam, Origin, and my consoles.

Is more electricity consumed when you elevate the volume of a tv or stereo?

001218

I have a 90 watt stereo and have always wondered if it uses more energy when playing music loud. The same applies to other devices. Is there a direct relationship between decibels and electricity?

Answer
There is, but the difference is more theoretical than practical. In terms of any difference on your power bill, you're really not going to see anything.

In U.S. systems, a 90 watt device draws less than one additional amp, above the idle state, on audio peaks from a standard 15 amp household electrical circuit, and such peaks are obviously not constant. So "more electricity?" Basically, yes, but not enough to matter.

Running a 90-watt amp full bore can cause other issues like damaged eardrums and pictures falling off the wall, but that doesn't significantly affect your power load unless you're doing something really odd like a constant, unchanging tone that keeps the amp on max output for a lengthy period.
--------------------
Followup for #1 Mom: that TV guy is leading you astray. If you bought a conventional LCD set (not LED), the backlight is a fluorescent lamp that will eventually burn out. Leaving a TV on full time actually made sense 40 years ago with all-tube TVs (the worst thing you can do to a vacuum tube is turn it on), but that's not true with a TV that has no tubes. If you're not going to watch your flatscreen for maybe 30 minutes or more, I'd definitely be turning it off.

Can I use a 7A power cable for a device with a 9A requirement without breaking either of them?

Xealot 129

I bought a TV and it requires 9 amps but it didn't include the cable. I have a 7 amp cable that fits, but I don't want to damage the TV. All the cables at stores around me don't fit well. Could I get away with just using this one for a couple days until the right one arrives in the mail? I can imagine that it wouldn't give me reliable power, but I don't really care about that, I just don't want to damage the power supply of the TV. Thanks in advance.

its a viore LCD32VH56 and the specs on the default power cable are 110/240 volts, 9 amps

Answer
You have a TV that draws 9 amps from a 117 v.a.c. power line? That's roughly a kilowatt. You could run three 55-inch LED sets for that, with power to spare.

Or does your TV operate from a 12-volt d.c. source, like for a boat or RV? That would make more sense, 108 watts total. In that case, using the wrong power cable could be at least a theoretical hazard. I'd wait for the proper cable.

If you'll update your post with the make and model of your TV and what you're powering it from, you might get a better answer. Your location would also help, at least which country due to different a.c. power systems.
-----------------------
Followup, per your added details: now I get it--you have a power cord that's rated at 7 or 9 amps, not a TV that draws that much. That's entirely different. Your TV/DVD combo will use a maximum of about 150 watts, which means it will draw just a little over one amp. So any power cord you can find that fits properly and is rated at something like 3 amps or more will be fine.

Answer
LED tvs are bit expensive when compared to LCD. A good quality Full HD LCD TV will be more than enough. So go for LCD TV 1080p. Samsung and Sony offer very good models in India. Samsung is little bit cheaper than Sony. Samsung 6 or 7 series TV is really good.

What is LED tv?What's new in it?

H34rtl3ssk

What is LED tv and is it better than LCD and plasma? And what's new in it?

Answer
Ignore the first comment.

LED is a form of LCD. Its still an LCD TV.

Most LCD TVs use CCFL light sources. These sources create muted colors, grey-ish blacks, and so-so contrast. To overcome this manufacturers came up with the LED LCD. The LED light source delivers vivid colors, true blacks, and deep contrast. It creates an LCD which is in the ballpark of CRT, DLP, and Plasma (not quite Plasma, but close enough). It is the most energy efficient type of light source though.

That's all it is. There's nothing more to it. The motion blur flaws of LCD technology still exist in LED LCD. So that's why they have 120Hz and 240Hz refresh rates. Plasma is still better with its near instantaneous response time (0.001ms).

LED LCD is an amazing LCD set. Its the best image quality you can get with LCD technology right now. And it will give you a great viewing experience. But its just not quite as good as elite Plasmas are (like Panasonic G and V series).

Samsung F8000 Plasma TV or Sony W900A LED TV?

.

Which do you recommend and why?

Answer
Disregard the other answers and buy the F8500 Plasma. The F8500 plasma is the best looking tv Samsung has every made (I am referring to both picture quality and aesthetics). The picture quality is absolutely superb! No this tv is not bulky which anybody who has actually SEEN the tv would know. It has a picture quality that goes up and beyond what the Sony W900A can although the W900A is the best LED this year. Black levels are also much richer on the Samsung plasma than on the W900A, and the colors are nothing if not completely accurate. It is also very bright for a plasma. While the F8500 is (without a doubt) the best tv Samsung has ever made (that says a lot), the Sony W900A is nowhere near the best tv Sony has ever made albeit the best LED this year.

For movies, sports, and pretty much anything, the Samsung will look much nicer than it LED competition. Even the smarts on the Samsung are a lot easier and visually intuitive than Sony's. The only reason I would recommend the Sony over the Samsung would be if the tv is going in an extremely bright room and you never watch movies or watch tv at night. Yes, plasmas still do generally pull more electricity than LEDs but they're all energy rated. Plasmas are no longer the bulky beasts they once were and are often times as thin or thinner than competing LEDs in the same price point. Don't be dumb. This is a clear choice. Pick the Samsung. You won't be sorry. Look at my sources below!

Sony LCD TV or LED TV?

doggy

I do know the difference between the two (backlighting)

Sony kdl-46w5810 vs sony kdl-46ex703

The LCD is £800 and the (edge lit) LED is £1300

They are the exact same in every way except from the backlighting (im not bothered about thickness)

is it worth paying £500 for LED backlighting ??? (ps it will save about £100 in electricity bills over 10 years)?

Thanks

Answer
Sony use to be a good brand on tvs. In the last several years they have fallen in the quality and reliability. There customer service support center are not very helpful when you do need assistance. Panasonic is the top brand in quality and reliability along with the best customer service support center. Panasonic is also producing LCD tvs now. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs. You will notice that they have a tv recommended in each price category of entry level to the high end. While no other manufacturer can claim. If you read yahoo questions, you will also notice that 95% of tv problems come from LCD/LED tvs and 95% of those are from off brands. You are the one going to be using the tv, get what appeals to you and your eyes. Hope this will help you out

3d tv - compared to lCD and lED...?

what is a 3D tv..and how is this different from LCD and LED tvs with respect to cost and use.
is 3D tv good for home use or only for bill hall theatrical effects.

------------

Answer
LED, LCD, and Plasma are technologies to display the picture.
3D is can use LED and Plasma. Never heard of one that uses LCD but that is theoretically possible.

3D displays two pictures, one for your left eye, and a slightly different one for your right eye. You wear glasses that filter the images giving you the illusion of three dimensions. The reason for buying 3D today is because they result in the best 2D TV's available.

LCD and LED block various amounts of light using LCD's. The difference is backlighting where LED is superior. Plasma is kinda like having 2 million old style CRT's. This tech has nothing to do with 3D.

No clue what bill hall theatrical is. Audio?

I have a problem with my TV it is mainly got to do with dark scenes and blacks can anyone help me please?

neal m

Basically I purchased a Toshiba 32EL833B LED HD Ready TV, 32 Inch from John Lewis and had it replaced because of other issues many times with the same type of model. Whenever I am sitting in the dark in my room the blacks appear smudged or with a lot of white or greys in them especially in dark scenes, but whenever I am in the light the blacks appear normal and more vibrant! what seems to be the case this never happened to me the first time I bought it but this is the replacement of the same product so why is the problem happening?

Answer
LED screens tend to do weird things when you are not viewing them from directly in front of the screen. You may want to go into your menu options and tinker with the video settings... Especially your gamma levels.
I have a one LED tv and one plasma. The plasma screen is much superior and offers a wider viewing range.

Who is Australian musician Jeannie Lewis?

Kevin7

Answer
Jeannie Lewis (b. 1945) is widely acknowedged as one of Australia's most accomplished, versatile and passionate vocal artists, and a performer whose work crosses many musical boundaries.

Jeannie started her singing career on the Sydney folk and jazz circuit in the mid-1960's then moved into the rock scene in the early 70s, establishing a strong reputation through her dynamic performances and powerful interpretations of songs both on stage and on the outstanding recordings she made in those years. During the 80's and 90's she continued to develop and broaden her career, with roles in musical theatre and the unique one-woman cabaret shows that reflected her growing love of Latin music, and her commitment to the often-underrated role of women's voices in music. Jeannie can adapt her voice to a large and eclectic range of material -- folk, rock, blues, opera, torch songs, Broadway tunes, tango and jazz -- and she is recognised both here and overseas as a peerless interpreter, with a rare ability to make almost any material her own.

By the time she left Sydney University in the late 60's, Jeannie had already begun her performing career on the Sydney folk scene, as well as singing with jazz groups, inlcuding The Ray Price Jazz Quintet, The Nat Oliver Jazz Band and The Alan Lee Jazz Quintet, and her first commercial recording was as vocalist on the Ray Price Jazz Quintet's album Spectrum, released in 1971.

On February 14, 1970 Jeannie made her one of her first major public appearances as a 'rock' performer. With the progressive band Tully (who had just finished their stint as house band for the Australian production of HAIR) and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Jeannie collaborated in the Sydney Proms premiere performance of Peter Sculthorpe's innovative work Love 200, with lighting and effects by the legendary Ellis D. Fogg (Roger Foley). This ambitious work for two vocalists, rock group and orchestra featured a libretto by noted TV dramatist Tony Morphett (Dynasty, Certain Women) and was written to commemorate the Captain Cook bicentennial. As the title implies, it explored themes of Captain Cook's journey to plot the transit of Venus in 1770 -- the voyage that led to his "discovery" of Australia.

The meeting with Tully was the beginning of a long and fruitful working relationship between Jeannie and members of that group, notably Michael Carlos, who became her musical director and composed much of her first album. Later in the year she put together the Sydney-based group Gypsy Train which included ex-Tully vocalist Terry Wilson, jazz pianist and noted session player Bobby Gebert (later a member of supergroup Duck), Kydric Shaw (guitar), John Helman (bass; ex-Levi Smith's Clefs) and Daryl McKenzie (drums). In 1972, Lewis sang the title song to Jim Sharman's debut feature film Shirley Thomson Versus The Aliens.

In 1973 EMI issued Jeannie's classic debut album, Free Fall Through Featherless Flight, arranged and directed by Carlos. Its cover was designed by renowed Australian artist Martin Sharp whose first record designs were the classic psychedelic covers for Cream's Disraeli Gears and Wheels of Fire LP's). The superb list songs included some fine Australian compositions like Jeannie's inimitable renditions of Graham Lowndes' "Till Time Brings Change", Company Caine's "It's Up to You" and Billy Green's setting of the Dylan Thomas poem "Do Not Go Gentle" (which Billy revisited the following year with Doug Parkinson on vocals, for the soundtrack of Sandy Harbutt's movie Stone). Other mtracks include Some Book of Life" (a collaboration between Patrick Flynn and Reg Livermore) and "It'll rise again", an excerpt from Love 200, co-written by Peter Sculthorpe and Tony Morphett.

Backing Jeannie on the album was an all-star lineup including Michael Carlos on Moog, organ and harpsichord, Mike Wade and Mike Reid (guitars), Ken Firth (bass; ex-Tully), Jamie McKinley (ex-Cool Bananas, piano), Greg Henson (drums), Alan Lee (percussion), Marcia Hines (backing vocals), Shayna Stewart (backing vocals, ex-Extradition, Tully), The Fidelio String Quartet and a wind section. The album won the Australian Radio Record Award for the Best Australian LP of 1974, despite receiving virtually no radio support whatsoever outside the ABC, although it was featured on Chris Winter's pioneering show Room To Move, and gained further airplay in the early days of radio station 2JJ (Double Jay) in Sydney.

Which one is better LED TV or LCD TV and why?

ilia lilo

Answer
LED TV ( LCD display use LED for back-light ) is much better than LCD TV. more rich color reproduction and better dark color display.is also well " cover / hide " away the " motion blur ".use 40 to 50 % less Energy than LCD TV.LED TV the only display technologies as this moment closer to Plasma display. ( OLED TV is not on the market yet. except Sony 11 inc OLED TV for show ) .
LED TV is LCD technologies RE-FINE and Improvement . it should be replace LCD TV in 5 to 8 years time.LED TV prices will be 30-40 % less in time to come. based on history. 13 inc LCD TV in 14 years ago is USD 1800 and 40 inc LCD TV cost more than USD 5000 around 2001 , first 42 inc Plasma TV cost around USD 6000 .
Best Pictures quality for big screen HD TV is Plasma .
LED TV perform 94 % Plasma pictures quality,( to human eye will not get the difference ) but cost much more.
LCD TV is " GOOD " because of full screen size from 2 inc to 108 inc and affordable prices for every once. there is standard enter level / mid and Hi End models to well-suited consumers need.

LCD vs LED TV...........?

ladybug

Whats the difference? which is better?

Answer
LED TV is basically just upgraded LCD TV. In LCD TV, at the back there are fluorescent lamps, but in LED TV there LEDs instead. Because of that LED TVs are lighter and thinner. They also produce better colors and deeper blacks. What I noticed is that LED TVs have better viewing angle than LCD TVs. LED TVs also consume less power and last longer than LCD TVs. LED TVs have picture similar to plasma TVs and some even have better.

I would recommend LED TV. One month ago I just bought one. LED TVs are more expensive than LCDs, but the big advantage is that LEDs produce better colors (more natural looking and brighter) and that's very important. In a store when they have LCD besides LED you can see big difference in picture quality.

How to make TCL LE50FHDF3010TA 50-Inch 1080p 120Hz LED TV look better?

Jack

I bought this tv a few months ago, and honestly it just sucks. I tried going into settings to make it look better but it just flat out freaking sucks. Is there any way to make this TV look better? And how do i make the refresh rate higher? like wtf waste of 487 dollars yo.

Answer
- If you have a HD-TV, you also what a source that is HD (like HD TV channels or HD Blu-ray movies or HD video games .ect) and you want to use a HDMI cable so you can get HD video+audio quality.
- You can find good cheap HDMI cables at monoprice or amazon or newegg or tigerdirect.

What is HD-TV Calibration?
- Backlight: This setting is mostly found on LCD CCFL or LCD LED HD-TVs, it controls the overall light output of the CCFL or LED backlights. For best picture quality it should be set to 100. Set too high can cause eye strain and more power consumption.
- Color Temperature (aka, warm and normal and cool or a number in kelvin degrees .ect). Warm will look redish, cool will look blueish, normal will look neutral. You want this setting at about 6500 K (aka, D65), normal or warm color temperature will be the closest to this number. Warmer color temperatures use less power consumption and cooler color temperatures use more power consumption.
- Brightness (aka, black levels or luminance offset .ect): Try lowering this setting so you can get good blacks without losing details in dark scenes. Set too high can also cause picture artifacts and wash out the picture quality.
- Contrast (aka, picture or white levels or luminance gain .ect): Try raising this setting so you can get good whites without losing details in bright scenes. Set too high can also cause eye strain and picture artifacts and more power consumption and set too low you will lose picture quality.
- Color (aka, saturation .ect): Try setting this so you get good colors without it being under saturated or over saturated (over > under).
- Sharpness (aka, edge enhancement .ect): Set too low the picture will look too blurry (soft) and you may get picture artifacts (a little lower than mid setting for HD). Set too high the picture will look too edgy/fuzzy and you may get picture artifacts (a little higher than mid setting for SD).
- Overscan: Rescales the picture a little larger. Turn it off for LCD CCFL or LCD LED or Plasma HD-TV's. May be needed for CRT TV's.
- Hue: The color. - Tint: Lightens colors. - Shade: Darkens colors. - Tone: Greyens the colors. Your HD-TV may have some of these color settings and adjusting it may do something different then what the terms actually mean.
- Your HD-TV may have more advanced settings not described here. There is plenty of HD-TV calibration information on the internet.

- On almost any sony DVD movies and sony Blu-ray movies, you can use the free sony TV calibration. You will have to put in the 6779 easter egg code to access it. It's not very good and I don't recommend it.
- On many DVD movies and few Blu-ray movies, you can use the free THX Optimizer video+audio calibration. See if it has that feature listed on the back of the case of any of these movies http://www.thx.com/consumer/home-entertainment/thx-certified-releases/ . I like this one better than the sony one.
- Windows 7 (not sure about windows vista or windows 8) has a free Calibration guide. Computer's start menu -> control panel -> appearence and personalization -> display -> calibrate color -> follow the steps, but you may want to adjust the settings through your display's menu (yes it says color, but it has pretty much many other test patterns including one for constrast and brightness that has been taken from the crap monster cable HD-TV calibration disk you can buy in stores).
- Another free option that I would recommend the most is the AVS HD 709 - Blu-ray & MP4 Calibration found here http://www.avsforum.com/t/948496/avs-hd-709-blu-ray-mp4-calibration . It has a guide, but you can find more guides on other sites like http://www.tweakguides.com/HDTV_14.html OR http://lifehacker.com/5858625/how-to-calibrate-your-hdtv-and-boost-your-video-quality-in-30-minutes-or-less .
- Also, you can go on sites like CNET and see if they have a calibration settings for your TV model.
- There is also paid HD-TV calibration discs you can buy at the store, I have tried a few and some suck and only give you the basics while others are good and give you plenty.
- There is also a option for a professional to come in with devices and that can cost a lot of money to do it for you.

= Note: You need a color filter to adjust the color and the tint of your TV. The below shows some ways to get the blue filter.
- If your TV has a 'Blue Only Mode', turn that mode On for this test.
- Buy the THX Blue Filter Optimizer Glasses.
- Buy the Lee Calibration Filter Pack
- Buy or borrow a calibration disc like Spears and Munsil or DVE (either the HD or non-HD version), as they contain the blue filter.

Samsung 50 inch plasma or a samsung 37 inch led tv?

Brian

Will be used mostly for gaming
Looking for info on both tvs

Answer
It's hard to say without knowing the actual model numbers, as for the plasmas there's the PN51D450 (720p), PN51D530 (1080p), PN51D550 (1080p with 3D capability), PN51D6500 (1080p, 3D capable, and is an internet TV) and so on.

However, I will say that plasmas will give you a higher quality TV for the price - because LED TVs are still a new technology, they're priced higher than comparable plasmas, with very little - if any - benefit whatsoever to justify the jump in price.

If you do decide to go plasma, I would also recommend checking out Panasonic's line as - they're currently the top plasma producer, with similar prices to equivalent Samsung models. Some models to check out would be: TCP50X3 (720p), TCP50S30 (1080p with 3D capability), TCP50ST30 (1080p, 3D capable, and is an internet TV), and TCP50GT30 (Similar to the ST30, but has a slightly better picture, and is THX certified).

In addition to features, as these models become more expensive, the picture quality also improves, giving a wider color spectrum and overall clearer picture.

Using LG 32" LED TV as PC monitor?

Mark

We have an LG 32" LED tv with a resolution of 1920x1080

and im planning on using it as my PC monitor since my monitor got busted up.

are there any cons with using a TV as a PC monitor?

thanks 5 stars for the most detailed answer.

Answer
Generally, a TV manufacturer is 60Hz in the US and gamers prefer a higher refresh rate setting when possible. The lag time from a control input to screen reaction including the g-t-g and othe input lag is a little higher. That will vary by TV. A monitor is watching that more in its design. Also, the larger screen affects your comfortable viewing distance and angle. A TV would normally be further away in mounting, [adding: and set higher up], but that you may have control of. It is perfectly acceptable since the basic design is the same. They are both LCD panels.
It comes down to your own use and the specific TV and its setup versus your seating. If you are happy with it, it can be your permanent setup. The very early TVs design involved radiation frequencies as tube TVs and sitting close could cause damage. LCD panels are a simple filtered (color filters) light and you cannot damage your eyes by distance so it is just about a comfortable view. Screen resolution and its clarity makes a difference, and in 1080p in a 32" you might want to be only about 30 to 40 inches away from it, and mounting and setup is what it is all about.

Some great LCD/LED TVs which are great for playing games on PS3?

Jake

I have been thinking to get a new LED or LCD TV(depending on my budget) which is great for playing games on PS3. I cannot actually decide which one should I go for. I need a 32inch LED or LCD TV which is not much pricey or expensive. Brands that I would like are Sony,Samsung and LG. Please suggest me some of the best.
Thanks.

Sony BRAVIA TVs are great for gaming

lcd vs led tv for ps3 gaming and bluray?

Alfie

simply put which is better?
All the tv's I've been looking at are 32" - 37" all 1080p some led some lcd. All I can see thus far is that Led costs more. What's the real difference?

Answer
led is slightly better if it has the same specs otherwise ( i.e. same htz , same contrast ratio etc. ) but neither is as good as plasma plasma is the best for gaming and movies since it is a lot faster refresh rate and higher dynaic contrast ratio
led costs more because it's a newer tech , basically improved lcd

What kind of Tv? Led or LCD?

Hi, well my fiancé and I are talking about getting a big screen HDTV, we want a 60 to 70" and we want it to be crystal clear and sharp, but I know jack squat about tv's so what is better? An LED or LCD, or he'll even plasma? And what are some good models and brands, I want the best!

Answer
Consumer Reports December issue has their suggested makes and models. I strongly suggest you go buy the magazine to see what they like.

A LED television IS a LCD panel. But instead of a white light - it uses LED lights which it can dim very quickly to increase the black levels.

You are not going to find a Plasma in 60-70 inches. Plasma is great - but it is a glass screen and they do not make plasma too big or the panels would crack under their own weight.

In the 60 inch size - Samsung makes some nice, well rated units.

If you want 70 inches or bigger - look at Sharp. Sharp is not as popular but it's a decent brand.

What is the biggest LED T.V they make, all I can find is 55" Samsung?

Answer
For the North American consumer electronics market, Sharp, Sony, LG, Toshiba and Vizio (... and eventually Samsung) are pretty much your best bets when it comes to 58-inch and larger LED-backlit LCD TVs and monitors [1]. In addition to their current large-screen LCD TVs, Sony is releasing several new 60-inch class LED-backlit TVs this year [2]. Sharp will be releasing their new 60- and 68-inch class LED-backlit LCD TVs, most likely as early as the second quarter of 2010 [3]. LG will be releasing a 60-inch model in their LE5400 Series [4] and Toshiba will be releasing a 65-inch model in their flagship CELL TV⢠ZX900 Series [5]. Vizio will also be releasing at least two LED-backlit models larger than 55 inches this coming year: their 72-inch XVTPRO720SV and their 58-inch XVTPRO580CD Cinema Wide 21:9 aspect ratio HDTV [6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14].

Note: Sonyâs two-year old, USD20,000, LED-backlit KDL-70XBR7* 70" BRAVIA HDTV has been discontinued and is no longer in production.

Answer
All are GOOD LED TV.
LG 47 inc / Toshiba 46 inc / Samsung 40 inc .
Samsung is NO 1 in LED TV. taken more than 85 % LED TV market share worldwide. should be TOP LED TV . is more than GREAT compare to other maker LED TV as this moment.
LED TV go for Samsung .never go wrong.
If you looking for " true life TV " ?
Panasonic new Plasma technologies Plasma TV z series is EXCELLENCE even better than any LED TV.in colours display.about 0 response time / 600 HZ refresh rate compare to 2 ms response time 120 HZ , how you think ?
burn in is totally not an issue even long hours for games .
life time is must better than LCD/LED TV.60,000 hours , is up to 1000,000 hours.
very low power consumption. ( LED still better in power consumption )

Samsung LED TV or the panasonic viera 600 Hz TV? Which is better?

Butch

Can anyone tell me which TV is better?? I am desperately trying to find out, Money isn't a problem. The TV will be used for PS3 gaming and watching Blu-Ray movies so normal channels don't matter to me just gaming and movies

Answer
Both are great hdtv.Samsung LCD tv have excellent picture with mega dynamic contrast ratio while Panasonic plasma have smoother motion with 600 Hz.
Personally for gaming I would recommend Samsung LED tv.I heard that plasma have burn-in problem if you play game for long time.
