Screen burn on a Samsung PN50C450B1D 50" 720p Plasma TV...help!?

Brian

I just bought this TV about 2 days ago now, primarily for gaming, the guy at ABC warehouse knew that and reccomended this one, it was a steal along with him throwing in some free monster HDMI cables, but last night I played MW2 for about an hour on it, and when I shut the PS3 off, and the screen was black, I could see all the stuff like etched into the screen like the radar, and the weapon info, so I was horribly pissed (I only played for about an hour!), so I shut it off, and and turned it back on like a half hour later to watch some TV before bed, and it was still there.

Now this morning I turn the TV on and its gone....should I take the TV back and goto an LCD or LED? I really love this tv and want to keep it but im just curious as to why there was a "temporary" screen burn, is that just due to it being a plasma, and something I shouldnt worry about?

Answer
I wouldn't worry about it. probably just flouresence left over from the excited gas.

If you do go LCD, make sure the LED can turn diodes off for black in order to get better contrast.

Gaming Desktop/Laptop For NZ$2500?

Angus

I want to make a Gaming PC for $2500. It must have a Nvidea 570, 580 or 590, must have a good looking chassies, a motherboard that can support 2 of the above GPU's (I plan to upgrade), a SSD boot drive, a 1-2TB hard drive and wireless. I need to be able to connect it to a TV so HDMI is a must. But if I can buy one that fits these specs can you please tell me. Also what is the best gaming laptop for this price (That looks good). If This isn't possible can you tell me the cheapest possible alternative.

Thanks.
Sorry but I won't buy a desktop or laptop I am going to build one.

Answer
Bigger is always better, I always say. I would recommend you take a look at the Panasonic tvs, they are a better built quality tv than the Sony brand. They also have the best customer service support center than the Sony. I recommend you go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs along with the pro and con of Plasma and LCD/LED tvs. You will notice that Panasonic Plasma is recommended in each price category of entry level to the high end. While Samsung, Sony and Toshiba (the top brands) does not (April issue). Other brands like LG, Sharp, Sanyo and Vizio (the next top brands) did not even get mentioned. If you read yahoo questions, you will notice that 95% of tv problems are from LCD/LED tvs and 95% of those are off brands. Hope this will help you out.

I bought the samsung LED HD tv 1080p with refresh rate of 120hz so can i make it 3d? By connecting my pc to it?

Waleed Ahm

My pc has a nvidia geforce gpu installed in it and is capable to produce stereoscopic 3d..

" but still i am confused what glasses would i need to make the 3d work? " please suggest me all details coz i am a newbie! Thanks!
Well thank you for reply!

Its the series 5 led and the model number is : Ua46d5000pr

Answer
You didn't specify what the model number of the TV is so that I can look it up. But a refresh rate of 120 does not make any TV a 3D TV.

Edit: OK I looked it up & it's not a 3D TV. So no matter what you do, it will not process any 3D video. It's a good high def TV to watch Blu-ray movies on, but that's where it ends.
