Changhong second largest TV manufacturer in China , in terms of technology and productions-skills , still a ' gap ' between Japan and Korea. except prices always much lower.

Is it good to shop for LED TVs during Diwali?

Why i am asking this that my friend told since there is a drop in prices, there will be massive demand which results in massive production which again results in drop in production quality. Is this true?

Answer
LED TV as this moment only by World Class TV manufactures. all are Quality products. Samsung. Sharp. Panasonic.LG manufactures own LED Display panel .Sony LED TV display Panel is by Sharp Japan.
Prices for LED TV is very high, because of LED Display Panel costs high . reason. 1 ) total productions quantity is not so great .less that 40,000 pcs monthly by each LED Display manufactures ( Samsung/LG/Sharp/Panasonic )
2 ) there only select Grade 1 AA type for there own TV use. there don't want to sales LED panel to other TV manufactures till end of this year.so, those grade 2 A- or B type LED panel just need to destroy it , it make total costs become high ! * usually is 20 % of total productions ).
3 ) By Sep Toshiba LED panel will out ! Those second line Display panel maker from Taiwan.ie AU-Optron. Chi-Mei will also join LED market.usually Taiwan made LCD panel quality is still low compare to Japan / Korea, but prices very LOW. LED panel should be Lower prices and Quality too !
4 ) by end 2008, Early next year, all other small TV manufactures will get supply of LED display panel.there buy from Taiwan or from Samsung/LG/Sharp, but select grade A- or B type products.Prices become 20 % lower, of course Quality drop !
by early 2010 LED TV from Worldwide brand prices will drop from 10-20 % , but remain same Quality ! only other OEM brand / in house brand LED TV will not in quality, because of total technology and use low prices parts.( like LCD TV ).

Samsung is the first who come out LED TV . and it ahead other TV maker 6 to 8 month. usually the fist once who use somethings new technologies use to have some technical problems after 1 year. and such happened to Samsung LED TV too.there fine out some technical matter need to improve by consumer feedback.is on the way to do it better, but should be for those very new END 2010 very new models. very sure, it will re-find and become excellence LED TV.
Sony and other Japan TV maker produce LED TV is about 8 month behind Samsung. because there still doing R & D for LED display panel . Sony is not an Display panel manufactures . ( LCD 19-40 inc use Samsung-Sony JV Korea S-LCD products ) LCD 46 and above screen use Sharp Japan made panel. and all LED display panel by Sharp Japan ( May use Sony-Sharp JV after July 2010 productions ).
http://hd.engadget.com/2008/02/23/your-next-sony-lcd-tv-may-actually-be-a-sharp/
Sony are great in TV technologies. mid / hi end models always quality and reliable. + LED TV select Sharp Japan made panel, one of the Excellence display panel in quality.go for Sony LED TV never go wrong. of course , end of 2010 consider Samsung new LED models. but as this moment SONY.

Which LED TV has less glare ?

Johnpau201

I brought LG 55" TV (google TV) 55G2 a week ago. The light glare on the screen is bad.

What LED TV's out in market has less glare ?

Good anti-glare LED TV's ( 55" or above).

Thanks in advance

Answer
Sharp has developed a technology named moth-eye which almost completely solves the problem but I guess these TVs are only available in Japan. Sony is already using a technology named opticontrast on some of their models which helps it reduce the glare.

Do the SHM-CD out of Japan really provide superior sound quality as advertised?

I have heard great things about the 2008 released Led Zeppelin SHM-CD's out of Japan but have not heard much about the sound on the other SHM-CD releases. What are some opinions out there for those who have listened to the SHM-CD's.

Answer
Bunch of B-S. Its ones and zeroes. Digital is either there or it isn't. Ones and zeroes.
Digital data are media independent. Even you write the bits on a sheet of paper, it will stay the same as on CD/DVD/HD/FLOPPY/RAM/FLASH etc.

Fire Halo

After World War II to help their Economy grow and that resulted in the Auto industry being very efficient at producing great quality cars, they have an award named after him, a prestigious quality award with the winner being announced on TV. Can't thik of his name, but he is American, so Japanese quality is really American quality done well.

Answer
DR. Deming Its. the Deming prize

Dr. William Edwards Deming (October 14, 1900 - December 20, 1993) was a physicist and statistician, attaining great influence in the fields of management and statistics. He studied for several years with Dr Walter A. Shewhart of Bell Telephone Laboratories. Shewhart's theories of statistical control formed much of the basis for Deming's work.

Deming developed the sampling techniques that were used for the first time during the 1940 U.S. Census, and taught Statistical Quality Control (SQC) techniques to workers engaged in wartime production. They were widely applied during World War II, but faded into disuse a few years later in the face of huge overseas demand for American mass-produced product.

After World War II, Deming was involved in early planning for the 1951 Japanese Census. His expertise, combined with his involvement in Japanese society, led to his receiving an invitation by the Japanese Union of Scientists and Engineers (JUSE).

The JUSE members had studied Shewhart's techniques, and as part of Japan's reconstruction efforts they sought an expert to teach statistical control. In 1950, Deming gave the first of a dozen or so lectures on SQC. Unlike his previous lectures, he aimed this message at Japan's chief executives: improving quality will reduce expenses while increasing productivity and market share.

The Japanese manufacturers applied his techniques widely, and experienced new international demand for Japanese products.

In 1960, Deming became the first American to receive the Second Order of the Sacred Treasure from Prime Minister Kishi. An accompanying citation stated that the people of Japan attributed the rebirth and success of their industry to his work.

Deming continued running his own consultancy business in the United States without widespread popular notice in his native United States of America. In 1980, he featured prominently in an NBC documentary, If Japn Can Why Can't We, produced by Clair Crawford Mason, about the increasing industrial competition the United States was facing from Japan. Demand for his services increased dramatically as a result of the broadcast, and Deming continued consulting for industry throughout the world until his death at 93.

He published several books, Out of the Crisis, 1987, and The New Economics.

JUSE eventually introduced an annual award for the best proponent of Total Quality Management in Japan, and to recognize the contributions of Deming, they named this award the Deming Prize.

What is the minimum TV size for 1080p resolution?

Ryan Hass

Me and my friend are in an argument over that anything less than 17" TV won't display at 1080p resolution.
Also can you provide a source so I can show my stubborn friend....

Answer
I am not aware of any commodity Full HD 1080p direct-view TVâs smaller than 22 inches though it certainly would be possible if there were sufficient consumer demand. Other than market factors there really isnât a minimum size constraint on Full HD 1080p displays per se. The 22-inch size class HDTV models listed below are but a few examples.

Samsung has been producing and refining Full HD 1080p technology in small LCD flat panel displays for quite some time. In the United States Samsung is currently offering at least four 22" Class (21.5" diagonal) Full HD 1080p LCD HDTVâs from within their LED 50xx Series and (CCFL backlit) LCD 450 Series TVâs. The corresponding model numbers are UN22D5000NFXZA, UN22D5003BDXZA, and UN22D5010NFXZA, and LN22D450G1F respectively.

Though the following are not specifically high-definition *televisions,* the TFT-LCD modules, nevertheless, could easily be used to produce very small Full HD 1080p HDTVâs if a manufacturer desired to do so.

ORTUS Technology (Tokyo, Japan) developed a 4.8-inch color liquid crystal display that has a native Full HD 1920 à 1080, 458 ppi (pixels per inch) resolution. Were assassinations in feudal Japan and Europe common?

lynche88

In movies and tv shows, there's always one prince trying to kill another prince either by sending Ninja, secret agents, poisons, etc. Did all nobles really have to worry about being assassinated all the time?

Answer
Yes, it was pretty common. Basically back in the feudal ages you had a bunch of elite guys and each one had their own army that would protect them. They were always battling for superiority so this led to many assasinations.
