Best tv for a college apartment?

I'm trying to buy a tv for my apartment. I'm looking for a LCD or LED tv which is 39" or bigger. I'm kinda finding that there are better deals online rather than in stores, and I am also open to getting a refursbished tv if the price is really good. So what kind of tv should I look for and what websites? I have a budget of $400 max but would like to spend less if possible.

Watching 3D on my LG 42LM620S 3D LED Television?

Bojan S

hey guys, i have brought a LG 42LM620S 3D LED TV, just to watch 3D at my home place. because i am new at this, i have no idea how to watch movie in 3D, i have a Blu-Ray movie, Avatar, and i really want to watch in 3D. I have 3D glasses that came with the TV.

Answer
That is a 2012 LG LM series model correct? The TV should have two remotes, a regular button remote and the magic motion remote. If you put in a blu-ray movie, push the "3D" button on the magic motion remote. You will see a display pop up that says 2D --->3D. Click the icon and you'll now be watching in 3D. You can tell if the movie is in 3D mode by the image without the glasses. You will see two overlapped images.

I'm going to get a led 1080p 3d Sony bravia. I'm looking for a Sony bravia 3d tv at like 32 inch can you tell me if this is good when it comes to technology

Answer
It actually depends on which tv series are you buying from their line-up. When it comes to sony their series for 2012 include the HX, EX, BX series. Sony has announced 10 tv's for this year.
If you are looking for the best of sony's technology then the hx series is the one to go for as it is their top-of-the-line, but it is only available from 36 inch size and is going to cost a fortune.
The ex line up suits most of your needs as it has full HD led displays and ample older tech like the motionflow240 but all models lack 3d.
The bx series is the bottom-of-the-line series and has hd ready displays and almost none of the premim sony features.
Thats all from sony for this year. Their most noticeable upgrade compared to last year is the new x-reality engine which is mostly all about up scaling internet and low resolution content.
All things said I suggest you take a look at the samsung line up as well, simply because there is a ton to choose from, most are smart tv's and some of their smart tv's have "smart evolution kit" slot which upgrades the tv to new software without having to buy a brand new set. This would mean not just having the latest tech but also being future-proof.
Hope it helped :)

What is the better choice between LED and LCD HDTV's?

just anoth

I am in the first stage of buying a new flat screen TV and I need a reliable source on which is better. I have seen some that include both LED-LCD in their description. What does this mean?. Please enlighten me! The universe will reward you further if you could include a link to a good 32" to 42" TV. Thanks!!

Answer
Both LED and LCD are LCD tvs. Different backlights. LED are the newer tech and are still having new tech issues. Clouding, flashlighting at the corners of the screen and other screen anomolies.

If you want 3D you have to get an LED. LEDs have the newest internal tech also. LCD are being shifted to the lower line tvs but they have fewer problems. If you want the latest and greatest you should get LED. If you are OK with older tech but fewer issues, you should go with LCD.

Go with a Samsung or Sony tv. The universe should be satisfied with that as they both are coming out with new models as we speak, so links are not available if you want the newest 2012 models.
