Can the Samsung LED TV be mounted on the wall?

Q. I kind of want the Samsung LED TV for my room, but I was hoping to get it mounted on the wall...

Answer
All LCD, Plasma and LED tv's can be mounted on walls. Just don't mount them above the fire place that you also use during the winter. Heat and water is the main enemy of every tv's. At the monent LED tv's are still priced high compare to LCD and Plasma, beside that Sumsang is the only one in the market with it. At the begining they are priced high, like when plasma first came out (42" was at $20,000 and now around $700). By this christmas price will drop. Hope this helps and enjoy.

What is a great LED TV for $700?

PlayinDaGa

Our family has been wanting to get a new TV for quite a while, since our last one we had (Samsung LCD) decided to break down on us, having the main board go out on us, which was going to leave us with a fat bill of $400 to replace it. I have been searching and reading reviews. Many say to get LG, many say to get Panasonic. What is your take on it? (Yahoo Answers community). Basically the things I need are: Built-in Wi-fi (optional, not necessary), PC input, PC audio input, HDMI input. Something that has great picture quality, and of course the MAIN thing is, quality built, and won't give us any problems, until like 10 or 20 years later. Problems like; Main board going out, picture flickering, having to replace the LED bulb, etc. We are being really careful of buying a new TV, since we had so many problems, that in which didn't show up, until after the warranty ended. Thank you so much!

Answer
First, expect no more that 5 years out of current TV technology. Maybe 2 years firmware updates before it is functionally obsolete, as far as firmware goes.

Second, stick to the major brands, such as Samsung, Sony, or LG. Vizio maybe.

For particular features, you need to shop for individual sets for that. HDMI input is a given for modern TVs, analog PC input less so (and that is going away in a few years, in favor of HDMI).

If you want a TV for the longer term, skip the smart TV features built into the TV, and get a Blu-Ray player or media box with those features - that will be more easily replaceable as services and standards change.

Q. We want a 42" Panasonic 1080p which is $700, but we can't afford that. That is why I want to know how much all HDTVs will drop in price by then. What do you think?

Answer
No one can be sure, but i would think with the new LED tvs, that LCD's and plasma tv prices are gonna sink like a rock. Samsung, LG, Vizio, (that i know of) already have LED tvs on the market. so i would imagine if you want a LCD, it would be cheaper in april and continually dropping in price.

What to do when buying a led tv from craigslist?

i'm a first time buyer on craigslist and just want to be safe when purchasing a television.

legit or not? what questions do i ask?
Thanks.

Answer
Buying electronics from Craigslist is always a risk. But the specs in the ad suggest that everything is there, including the original papers so there's a good chance the deal is legit.

The set sells for about $1100 on Amazon, so your choice is to take a chance on a $700 used set that's had a rough life (see the comments about dings on the cabinet) and no warranty, or invest another $400 for a new one with a new warranty and backing from Amazon (or whoever).

I'm looking for a new TV and was wondering what the difference between these were. Do they look any different on different size TVs.

Answer
LED is not as nice as the other two, but less expensive to repair.

LCD and Plasma are neck and neck on picture quality.

LCD is so expensive to fix that you would do better to get a new TV if anyone ever breaks it. It is HIGHLY fragile because it is made of liquid crystals within thin sheets of glass that are encased in a solid pane that won't prevent a thing if it gets dropped.

Plasma is subject to "burn in" which is an irreversible image that can remain burned into the picture if it is left on "pause" for 10+ hours, though most new Plasma TVs have found a way around that w/new technological improvements to their design.

Plasma is known to have a shelf life of 10 yrs. That is with constant use. I paid $700 for a 55" Plasma screen at a pawn shop. It's got a big, beautiful screen, and according to the manufacturer's label on the back its already 3 years old. I asked the man behind the counter why it was so low in cost. I'd been watching it for a year and he just took $1,000 off of it. He told me it was because of it's reputation for burn in and needing to be "charged" again after 10 years (another cost that may be more sensible to just purchase a new TV instead). The way I figure it, I've got about 7 years left (I really don't even WATCH tv, much less constantly!) so that puts me at about $100 a year. I will probably want a new TV in 7 years anyway.

Does the Samsung Series 6 have a completely LED screen?

Ryan

I just bought a series 6 LED and I heard it was not completely LED and that just the outline is. Then I heard that the series 8 LEDs are completely LED.

Answer
The series 6 Samsung is an LCD type TV.. If you want a really good LED TV, look at the Samsung Luxia 600, 700 or 8000 series 9.!. You do not want to get a 'side-lit' LED.. You want a full backlit LED!! They are a bit pricey, but the pictures are extremely good and bright, with excellent contrast ratios. A full backlit LED has a viewing angle as good or better than a plasma!!
