Are higher end model HDTVs are now made in Malaysia?

Q. I went to electronics section I met friendly sales associate he greets me and I talk to him I'm looking for a 3d models I looked all various brands they had on display I ask him is it made in Malayasia?
and he said yes i looking at new samsung d8000 series picture quality also i look at LG Full LED 3D is just awesome I wont buy that but my friend said their tv are having higher failure rate and back-light bleed. Sales associate said All higher end model are now made in Malaysia, LG is all Korean then I said Is it to cut manufacturing costs he said Yes, exactly All Panasonics plasma are now all made in Singapore also he told me if i have problem then i can return it.

I have bought a LED BRAVIA. And it is written on the outer box that its made in malaysia.
Now my question is ,though it is written made in malaysia,the original parts of the tv are still from japan right??Meaning that it is indirectly made in japan right??

if you Sony Bravia LED TV is between 26 to 40 inc, i should said over 90 % of original parts are not from Japan. the main parts - display panel should be Korea - S-LCD products.
that is one of the main reason, Sony been " kick " out by LG since 2010. LG become world No 2 TV maker . Sony from No 2 " drops " to No 3. consumers are smart worldwide. .

LED screen display is only manufactures by Samsung / Sharp / Panasonic at this moment , mainly is for there own TV use. and all are big screen 42 inc above . Malaysia do have few distributor for LCD Display panel. Business only to manufactures. LCD-LED panel will not supply in small quantity. is Advance big quantity order direct to Samsung.Sharp.Panasonic. Panasonic and Toshiba JV LCD display Panel in Singapore. the only LCD display manufacture in South East Asia. but do not made LED Display yet,

Also my whole family is travelling- My wife & 2 kids too which give us a good baggage allowance to carry the TV still! However my concern is the Duty & Customs on arrival! Check the Custom regulation in your country. Usually, a personal belonging like T.V you don't have to pay a tax. Again Im not so sure if this apply in your country. I brought a 40 inch 3D LED from the U.S for my brother last year in the Philippines on my last visit last year, no tax required. Just dont forget to clip a $5.00 on your passport.....you know what I mean. Darnnnnnnnnnn those Custom.
