Where to buy 3d LED/LED/LCD tv?

JayKayyy

Hi I am in the US right now and am in a big dilemma on buying a new TV (3d LED/LED/LCD) from here or from Dubai while going back to Chennai, India.
1. Firs of all is it worth buying a TV outside and taking it into India
2. If i take it what all charges do i have to pay and how much assuming its a 47-50 inches TV
3. Also my 48kgs are full so i have to take it separately, how much would that cost?
4. will the duty be too much?
5. Also are there compatibiity issues for indian usage?

Please help me out in my decision. Any references to shopping places at Dubai airport also welcome. Thanks!

Answer
you'll lose out on price...transporting it...and I think it's not even going to be electronically compatible with India's electrical outlets/etc...

Where to Buy LED TV's, Singapore or Malaysia?

MDS

Is Buying LED in Singapore and Malaysia is profitable. ? If so where to buy it? I am from India. Also need Suggestion for 32 inch LEDs. Sony is good choice?

Answer
I don't know you should check the prices of every retailer and the shipping costs to find out. Sony makes good TVs 3 of their models won the 2012 TV of the year award but they are more expensive than the other brands.

Does connecting set top box (STB) to a HDTV through HDMI port rule out the NTSC/PAL issue?

ScyThe

I am planning to get a HD LED TV from US which supports only NTSC. So if I get a HD DTH service with HDMI support, will the NTSC/PAL issue get ruled out?

(Please do not advise me to buy a NTSC to PAL converter or to buy a HDTV in India itself)

Thanks in Advance

Answer
NO !
because any " video signals " connect to TV via any in-put source still need colour-decode . TV system PAL/NTSC is totally difference in " video decode circuit designs ". very difficult for you to understand such " technically '. make it simple . NO !
i don't advice to use NTSC to PAL converter , low prices converter provide " bad " pictures quality. Hi End converter cost more than USD 200 . i don't think you want to paid for it. even you use converter , you unable to get free view on air TV channel, you still need option TV tuner unit or paid for cable box TV services. TV sold in USA all are ACST and QAM tuner ( NTSC-analog tuner )
consider also , you may need AC power steps drown transformers as not all models TV from USA work for universals 100 V to 240 V 50/60 HZ . shipping an TV from USA to India is high cost ( from 12 to 27 kg , depends of models ) . warranty issue ? parts and services supply / support ? some brand or models is only main for USA .
i can only ADVICE --- forget about it . get an TV in India consider " cheapest and convenience ".
