which to buy lcd a led tv 's?

Akshay

Hi i am from india i dint know english very well you can see some mistakes let come to point i want to buy an brand new xbox 360 pro 60gb but my tv dose not support it.it is 17 years old and i am confused which to buy lcd tv or a led tv hope you will answer my question

Answer
LED tvs are bit expensive when compared to LCD. A good quality Full HD LCD TV will be more than enough. So go for LCD TV 1080p. Samsung and Sony offer very good models in India. Samsung is little bit cheaper than Sony. Samsung 6 or 7 series TV is really good.

What is LED tv?What's new in it?

What is LED tv and is it better than LCD and plasma? And what's new in it?

Answer
Ignore the first comment.

LED is a form of LCD. Its still an LCD TV.

Most LCD TVs use CCFL light sources. These sources create muted colors, grey-ish blacks, and so-so contrast. To overcome this manufacturers came up with the LED LCD. The LED light source delivers vivid colors, true blacks, and deep contrast. It creates an LCD which is in the ballpark of CRT, DLP, and Plasma (not quite Plasma, but close enough). It is the most energy efficient type of light source though.

That's all it is. There's nothing more to it. The motion blur flaws of LCD technology still exist in LED LCD. So that's why they have 120Hz and 240Hz refresh rates. Plasma is still better with its near instantaneous response time (0.001ms).

LED LCD is an amazing LCD set. Its the best image quality you can get with LCD technology right now. And it will give you a great viewing experience. But its just not quite as good as elite Plasmas are (like Panasonic G and V series).

My sony 3d led tv's got a long line of burn in on the left side, I tried to clean it with led screen cleaning solution but no luck. Is there any way that I can fix this?, thanks

Answer
What you have is dead pixel and not burn in. I have never had any luck buying any Sony products at all. I purchase a 32" CRT tv in the 90's and that only lasted less than 3 years, then the first HDTV in the market a 34" HDTV from Sony. That also did not last more than 3 years. 2 DVD players when they first came out model 7000 and 7700 both at over $1,100 each and that also did not last over 3 years. They do not have a very good customer service support, they will just refer you to an authorized repair shop. If you read yahoo questions, you can read many problems from other customer with Sony product problems. My first Plasma tv from Pioneer purchased in 2002 is still running. Also have 4 other Panasonic Plasma tv and no problems. First generation blu ray disc player from Panasonic which is now over 4 years old and played over 300 blu ray disc movies without any problems. You may try calling or email Sony and see what they say. Hope this will help you out.

What's the difference between LED backlight LCD monitor and LCD monitors?

Zhir Makwa

are LED backlight monitors same as LED TV's and stuff,(is there a difference between LED backlight and LED)?
are LED backlight LCD monitors better than normal LCD's? which one shows a better picture?
Thanks!

Answer
An LED monitor (just like a LED TV) is a LCD that uses Light Emitting Diodes instead of fluorescent light bulbs for back lighting. LED uses less power and will provide a sharper, brighter, crisper picture longer than fluorescent will because a fluorescent bulb will dim over time (and occasionally start to develop an annoying flicker prior to failure) In addition LED's do not contain Mercury like a fluorescent bulb does so along with using less power, they are considered "greener" or more environmentally friendly.

How does the color black make LED TVs better?

Everyone makes a big deal about the black levels in LED TV's, but how does it make the picture any better?

Answer
On regular fluorescent backlit LCD TVs more light leaks through the liquid crystal pixels for the parts that are supposed to be "black" so it may look like a washed out gray instead of black. LED TVs are not as bad, but plasma and CRT are the only ones that can do real black. As an extreme example, turn the Brightness (not the Contrast) all the way up on your TV or computer monitor.... the picture won't look as good, now will it?

Why does my led tv buzz when I dim the lights in my room?

Ryan

I've read other people have had the same problem with led tv's, but usually their problem is corrected when they turn the backlight on their tv all the way up. My tv still buzzes at any backlight setting. I live in a somewhat new house, I wouldn't think that's its a problem with the wiring. When my room lights are turned all the way up their is a faint buzz, but when I dim my lights in my room the buzz gets much louder and I can hear it over the tv at times during quiet scenes. Would a power conditioner help me? or should I consider a replacement tv? Thanks in advance for any help.

Answer
Wow....I use a dimmer and my LED is unaffected. I would change the coaxial cable between the wall and the Cable box (or TV receiver) and/or the coaxial cable (if you're using one) between cable box and TV. I'm suspecting a loose ground shield may cause this type of problem. The dimmer switch itself is probably radiating some noise that's being picked up by the TV. I'm thinking that replacing the TV may not eliminate the problem.
