Is the stereo sound on this TV outdated? LG 42LV3550 42" LED TV?

I'm thinking of buying this TV (link below). I've read some reviews and all seems good except some people complain about the quality of the sound system. How bad is it? I don't expect exquisite sound for this money but I don't want to buy a new TV using really outdated technology that will sound worse than what i'm used to (a 5-6 year old 37" SONY). Also does the price seem right? Any help or comments greatly appreciated.

LG 42LS5700 42-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED-LCD HDTV with Smart TV is an OK TV. If I could, I'd give it 2-1/2 stars. The LS5700's selling point is supposed to be the "smart" features that let you connect to the Internet, get content from Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc. and share content from other devices in your network. It does have a nice crisp HD picture after you tweak the color settings, and so-so sound, as expected.

I have a 42 inch LED TV I use as a monitor via HDMI output from my laptop. My laptop is pretty slow because it only has 1 RAM of hard drive so I was looking for new computers but they all come with monitors, keyboards, a mouse, and lots of other things I don't need. Could you please tell me a place online that just sells towers that are HDMI port compatible? I really appreciate it.

Have you ever thought of buying the parts and building it yourself? MOTHERBOARD, HDD, RAM, VIDEO, POWER, PROCESSOR, and Box. Try Nextag.com. They do the shopping for you. Some MoBo's have on board HDMI. I use an ATI Graphics card that has HDMI. Building your own box is much more fun, and less expensive.

Defiuniely not before christmas when the prices are the highest.
In the new year and if there is a new model just out and you are happy with the tried and tested rather than the newest thing. check out the which reports. or try richer sounds in january. their 5 year warranties are the best. 10% of cost prIce, which is good, but if you dont claim you get the money back at the end.
