Hey, as soon as you buy any electronic item today, it'll be cheaper tomorrow! If you have an old CRT TV and it works fine, wait.
If you must have a new TV now because you have nothing to watch then buy now on sale.
My choice...wait. But hey, will new LED TVs be more costly when compared to the TVs today? Plasma were $12 000 when they came out! And under what lighting/room/distance/events/programs/etc. conditions do you watch TV? You may find that an old CRT TV is fine for you???

Instead of everyone trying to give there own opinion on the pro and con of each technology, I recommend you go online to Home Theater Magazine. Read the reviews on tvs, along with the pro and con of each technology. For 2010 they named the Panasonic Plasma tv model VT25 as the best tv, while 2009 belong to Pioneer Elite KURO which was also a Plasma tv. Plasma is still considered to have the best picture quality of all tv in the market today. All LCD and LED tv have a problem with blur motion when watching fast action sports or playing video games. To reduce reduce the blur motion you need the faster refresh rate of 120HZ or the 240HZ which also raises the price of the tv. Hope this will help you out.
