I have a Sharp television. One day i went to turn it on and a light started blinking in the front but the tv screen wont turn on. Is this the power supply or invertion (sp) board? Should i just pitch it or can it be fixed for a reasonable price?

Answer
The frequency of the flashing and the colour will usually indicate what the fault is. If you search "Sharp LED flash fault codes" you may be able to identify the problem.

The fault will often be a fairly simple one, but whether it's cost effective to fix the TV depends upon how old the unit is, the cost of any parts needed, and the labour rates to complete the job. Sharp are definitely a budget brand, so if the TV is over about 4 years old it's more likely going to be more cost effective to replace it. Your broken TV will have some value if you sell it "for spares or repairs".

What is the Cost to repair a broken screen of a 47 inch lcd tv?

I own a 47 inch LCD screen LG TV. Something was thrown at the screen and although it looks okay while turned off, when you turn it on the image is shattered. About how much would this repair cost?

Answer
It will cost you more to have it repaired than just buying a new one. The labor cost of repair is very high. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs along with the pro and con of Plasma and LCD/LED tvs. You will notice that Panasonic has a tv recommended in each price category of entry level to the high end. While Samsung, Sony and Toshiba (the top other brands) does not (April issue). Other brands like LG, Sharp, Sanyo and Vizio (the next 4 brands) did not even get mentioned. If you read yahoo questions, you will notice that 95% of tv problems is from LCD/LED tvs and 95% of those are off brands. Hope this will help you out.
