LCD TV, LED TV, or PLASMA TV??

Captain Ob

Which is best in your opinion, i am doing a compare and contrast paper on the subject.

Answer
Well, technically speaking, an LED TV is ACTUALLY also an LCD TV. The difference is the backlight (LCD does not produce it's own light).

When people speak about an "LCD TV," they are actually talking about the traditional LCD TV (backlighting with fluorescent bulbs).

Now an "LED TV," is an LCD TV that uses LED backlighting technology.

In my opinion, LED TV's are the best by far. They are the newest technology (which is why they are so expensive). LED TV's allow for lower energy consumption, better black levels (the black can be darker than regular TV's), thinner TV's, more balanced color saturation, and they do not contain Mercury.

Plasma, LCD, LED HD TV?

Plasma, LCD, LED HD TV?
Ok so I'm planning on buying a HDTV but at a complete lost...
Usually we only watch like foodnetwork, news, discovery channel and occasion movies (action, sci fi etc) and occasional xbox 360 but rarely. The room is pretty bright during the day but at night its pretty dim lit.

I'm planning on a 40-46 inch screen but I don't know which one is right for me...Plasma, LCD or LED? Can you suggest one to me and explain why? thanks! I was thinking either samsung or sony or w/e brand you can suggest too

Answer
go for a plasma! when our family was looking for a tv I was set on getting a lcd but my dad wanted a plasma (of course we got one), it was amazing! the color was awesome, there was no motion blurr like you would find in lcd or led tvs! overall plasmas are better, they have an awesome picture quality! and since you want a bigger tv plasmas are better (lcds are better for small tvs). also it's true that lcds are brighter but plasmas are pretty bright too, sometimes I have to turn the brightness on my tv down because it hurts my eyes(this usually happens at night when its dark) besides you don't want a tv that's too bright! seriously go for a plasma, you wont regret it! the only reason led's are expensive is because they're the newest thing out, led's arent the best! here's some links to prove what i've said!

if you get a plasma get a samsung one, that's what we have and it's amazing! we have the pn50b650 one! http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-PN50B650-50-Inch-1080p-Plasma/dp/B001W6NU9E

also plasmas don't burn in unless they're left on an image for like days, so you shouldn't have a problem with your plasma burining in (I've left mine on an image for a few hrs. before and there was NO burn in at all)
