I am going to get a 22 or 24 inch LED tv with either 1080p or 720p. Both will have 60 hz, so will I need an HDMI cable so it doesn't lag? I have a playstation 3.

With a 60 hz display you will have motion-blur problems with fast-moving objects.

If you send the wrong resolution to the TV, the TV will have to up or down convert each frame of video and this can take a sizable second or so and this is "gamer lag".

If you buy an off-brand or discount brand television, this can also cause gamer-lag because the budget brands save money by using older, slower electronics.

But yes - you will probably want a HDMI cable to hook up.
