Recently my deadbeat a**hole of a brother, stole my mother's $213.50 Xbox 360 64.32 Xbox 360 Controller, my two games Black Ops 2, NBA 2K13, Mass effect 3, Assassins creed 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist and Defiance. He asked my mother could he take it to a hotel with his girlfriend, because a whole different story.

So the next day he came back and my sister, mother and brother were gone and i was asleep. So he took $62.33 Hair Clippers, $513.12 42 inch LED Vizio TV and he left his dog that we now have to take care of. Now I'm only 17 living with my mother, and she bought all this stuff for the house and the clippers for me. Now he is out of state, whereabouts unbeknownst to me...but my mother kept telling me I can't report this stuff because the police wouldn't care. But now she's crying everyday and i just feel bad, can somebody please help me with what i can do?
Sorry i meant my "few games" not two.
So i don't know the prices because i don't have the receipts? That's how i know all the prices, cause we keep the receipts. And also I'm trying to help her or let her know that we PROBABLY could report theft out of state. I never said that she said wouldn't let me report the items, she saying that I'm not going to be able to report the items because the police wouldn't care.

Answer
The stuff in your first paragraph, the police will tell you to sue him in civil court. He had permission to take the items, so it wasn't theft. The fact that he hasn't returned them in a timely fashion doesn't make it theft, even if it seems like it.

The hair clippers and TV, on the other hand, constitute a theft. If they were your possessions and not your mother's, you could report them stolen. The police would at least take a report, but it is unlikely that much action would be taken.

Does a refurbished Macbook Pro qualify?

I was thinking about purchasing a refurbished Macbook Pro instead of a brand new one to save some money. Would it qualify for the free ipod touch deal that's going on right now?
