How do Plasma TV vs LCD TV compare

Answer
Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs along with the pro and con of Plasma and LCD/LED tv. You will notice that more Panasonic tv is recommended than any brand of tvs in the market. They are still considered to have the best picture quality and viewing angle of any tv in the market. If you read yahoo questions, you will notice that 95% of tv problems are from LCD/LED tvs and 95% of those are off brands. You get what you pay for. Hope this will help you out.

What is the difference between LCD, Plasma, LED, or Backlit technology?

There are a lot of different terms being used in TV's these days, i dont know the difference in LCD vs LED or LED backlit? LED tv's seem to be pretty expensive but I hear they have good picture?

Answer
LCD and LED are essentially the same technology, but with a different back light source.

LCD's have fluorescent bulbs running behind the LCD matrix. LED has LED diodes. LED sets are brighter and have more uniform brightness than LCDs, and in my opinion, richer colors too. Regardless of the light source, that light is then filtered thru the LCD matrix.

Plasma (which I have) uses a different technology all together. Each pixel is sent an electrical current (or not) and the gas inside lights up. Essentially, it's like having hundreds of thousands of different tiny colored lights making your TV picture.

In terms of price, LEDs are the most expensive, then LCDs, with Plasma being the least expensive.
