LG LED TV display issues?

Kevin

I bought an 42" LG LED TV just over two weeks ago second hand, so it's out of warranty as it's a 2009 model. I got a good deal on it, but now I'm having some issues. The picture will come on for a few seconds and then disappear. All connections are good, HDMI, and AVI, so that's not the issue. And the Backlight stays on, so that's not an issue as well. The screen literally just goes to a backlit dark blue/ black and I can still receive sound. So it's just some kind of display issue. I was just wondering if this were a small issue and if so around how much it'd cost to fix it? Thanks.
Also, it worked perfectly fine up until maybe a week ago so it was not sold as faulty.

Any chance your TV is a Smart TV with Internet connection?

I had a similar problem with my LG 55LM6200. Problem started 1 week after I bought it after a Software Update was downloaded. LG customer service had me re-initialize (reset) the TV. That cleared out the update and fixed the issue. Not sure if this is the case with yours...but it's worth a shot. Not sure how to do it though if you can't see the screen...but here's the instructions they gave me.

1. Press the Home button on the LG remote.
2. Select Setting and press Enter.
3. Go to Option and press Enter. Scroll down to Initial Setting and press Enter.
4. Allow the TV to reboot.

I know the other answerer had issues with LG customer service...but my experience with them has been quite well. Had a response to my emails on the same day and the agent who was assigned to me was really easy to get a hold of. I would register the product on LG.com as well...as it seems doing things through their website is really fast if your registered.

Are LG led tv's any good?

Im planning on buying a new tv for my hubby, he loves watching movies and on occasion he plays his ps3. I was thinking of buying this tv http://www.walmart.com/ip/LG-47LE5400/13904856 it has really good reviews, 4 million to 1 contrast ratio and a 120hz refresh rate. Its also an led, original prise is 1,700 dollars but its on sale for 1,100. it almost sounds to good to be true, would this tv be good to go along with his ps3?

Answer
LED TV's are the best for any environment/room you put it in and basically LG is a god sent, I have a gaming PC monitor by LG and i freaking love it, its just awesome, and the price sounds pretty decent too and those are some really nice features for a TV, so yes, Id recommend it.
