What tv is good for gaming? (im looking for a good tv that an sbox 360's graphics are good on)?

Im looking for a tv under $800

Answer
your in luck. there are plenty of TVs out there under 800 dollars! As long as it 720p to 1080i/p Hi-Def, are all equally as good as the most expensive TVs. But be warned! do not get a plasma TV! they may be cheap but have a low lifespan and burn out easily and expensive to replace parts! LCD's are a perfect standard and affordable! LED TV are a bit more expensive and thiner but offer more colors and near the 800$ mark while LCDs are around 200$ to 600$ depending on brand and size. Also there isn't much difference between 780p and 1080i/p so don't let that turn you down or a major deciding factor! Also look into "Hertz aka Hz" in your tv which I think is refresh rate which makes your games "look" smoother which is nice but very little difference but still noticeable

75 hertz refresh rate?

Sean

Is it possible to get 75 hertz or more with 1920x1080x? I am currently running this resolution only in 60 hertz. When I switch to 1280x1024 it will run at 75hertz. Am I being limited by my video card or is it the monitor?

I am using a BenQ RL2455HM 24" LED LCD Monitor - 16:9

Thanks in advance!

Answer
Within the context of your question, Leigh is wrong. In it's most crudest definition a refresh rate is how many times the screen is capable of redrawing images during a second. This is not to be confused with FPS or frames per second. Your monitor is only capable of doing that 60 times per second. GFX cards can be set to display at different refresh rates but it's the monitor that may or may not accept those settings which might cause an out of range or other error. Your spec page says 60Hz so in this case you are being limited by your monitor. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/benq-24-lcd-monitor/1307344927.p?id=mp1307344927&skuId=1307344927#tab=specifications

Native Resolution(1920 x 1080)
Screen Refresh Rate60HzThis refers to how many times per second a TV screen image is completely reconstructed. A TV with a 60Hz refresh rate means that the picture will be completely rebuilt 60 times in one second. Why is this important? Generally, the more the screen is refreshed, the smoother the images will appear.
