Do all LCD TV's shadow?

Patrick

We just fairly recently got an Phillips 42" LCD TV and in the manual it states, "Do not play video games for an excess of 90 minutes at a time otherwise shadowing could occur." I was just wondering is that an unfortunate "side effect" of LCD's, or is that because we got an off brand tv? Thanks all.

Answer
Usually LCD TV able to " handle " long hours for games. i don't see such " ADVICE " for Sony or Samsung / Panasonic . even NEW models from those 2009 Plasma TV.
only old Plasma TV avoid to play games continue more than 3 hours . that cause burn in !
any way all TV sold in USA / CANADA under PHILIPS BRAND.
is all don by FUNAI. designs and made by Funai Thailand , same as Sylvania and Emerson. nothings to do with Philips BV.products just so so...

Buying a LCD TV Soon. 40 inch 1080p
Is it necessary to have 120 ghz to run xbox 360 and PS3 games on it?
Or can I get away with a TV that has less ghz

As the other poster said, it's hz. That's cycles per second.

The important thing to remember, is that there is no source above 60hz. Both your 360 and PS3, will only output at 60 hz.

The TV it's self will fake those hz,

# Or can I get away with a TV that has less hz

I've play games on my 60 hz TV, many many times, without problems. Chances are your current TV is only 60 hz.
