We're moving into a new house and we're on a budget so where is the best place to find a 55" LED/LCD TV (refurbished ok) and Living room sofas?

What size flatscreen TV for a living room?

I'm debating between a refurbished 47" and 50" LED LCD flatscreen TV for my living room, which is approximately 12ft x 16 ft. Is 47" enough for this room or would the 50" be worth the extra $500+ difference in price?

$500 for 3" is not worth it.
$500 for LED vs non-LED is what you need to consider. Head to a store and take a look the two sets and see if the LED one actually impresses your eyes enough to warrant the cost. If it doesn't, then its not worth it. From a technical standpoint the LED should be worth it, but you need to make sure your eyes actually agree if you're going to spend that much money on it.
If you can afford the extra $500 though, have you though Plasma? For the cost of an LED LCD you could likely jump up to a 54" or 58" Plasma set fairly comfortably. The Panasonic TC-P54S1 is listed at $1,372 on Amazon and the 58" TC-P58S1 is $1,717. Not sure what your budget is, but though I'd throw that out there. It sounds like you have a room big enough for that size of a TV.
