Answer
Lancenigo di Villorba (TV), Italy

Well, the aim about the chemical mixture you cited owes to PYROGALLIC ACID.
Alkaline solutions of Pyrogallic Acid are chemicals which react promplty against all chemical oxidizers like Air's Oxygen is.
So, Pyrogallate Salts forms aqueous solutions which soaks up Oxygen

.....H-C=C-OH
........./........\
2 H-C........C-OH(aq) + O2(g) --->
.........\\......//
......H-C--C-OK

.............H-C--C=O
................//.......\
---> 2 H-C........C=O(aq) + H2O(aq)
................\......../
.............H-C=C-OK

; once Oxygen disappeared, Cellular Anaerobic Breath may begin.

CHEMISTRY
PYROGALLIC ACID belongs to isomers of TRY-HYDROXY-BENZENE.
Well, IT RESULTS THE ONLY ISOMER HAVING SYMMETRICAL STRUCTURE.
By so, chemically speaking, this symmetrical structure allows easy and fast Hydrogen Radicalic Loosening or Fast Reaction once it meet Chemical Oxidizers.
Well, PYROGALLIC ACID deserves an acidic power so it can loose Hydrogen Ions by Acid/Base Reactions led against Strong Base as KOH is

...H-C=C-OH
....../........\
H-C........C-OH(aq) + KOH(aq) --->
......\\......//
...H-C--C-OH

..........H-C=C-OK
............./........\
---> H-C........C-OH(aq) + H2O(aq)
.............\\......//
..........H-C--C-OH

Now, you have to know that PYROGALLATE SALTs formed by Strong Bases are very ready chemicals to soak up Oxygen.

ETHYMOLOGY
Really, its name came later a swedish pharmacist discovered it in half of XVIII century : I am speaking about K. W. SCHEELE which rescued Pyrogallic Acid.
Indeed, Scheele boiled Oak's Vesicles in Potash Bath and it rescued an acidic stuff which he named GALLIC ACID (e.g. GALLUS is Latin word meaning Oak's Vesicles). Scheele warmed Gallic Acid in dry-sand bath where it rescued PYROGALLIC ACID :

HO-C=C-OH
....../........\
H-C........C-OH(s) -->[HEAT]-->
......\\......//
...H-C--C-COOH

.......HO-C=C-OH
............./........\
--->..H-C........C-OH(s) + CO2(g)
.............\\......//
..........H-C--C-H

PYRO is an ancient greek term meaning "fire" as Scheele harshly did to obtain it.

I hope this helps you.

how do you take pictures with your web cam on the hp pavillion dv9000?

John

i did all that but it still wont work, should i install it?

Answer
Yes, you can use the WebCam through QuickPlay

To access QuickPlay, just press the "blue QuickPlay button" next to the power button. If it doesn't load QuickPlay, just do "Start" - "All Programs" - then you will see QuickPlay listed there. If you still can't find it just do a search, you will find the short-cut.

Once launched QuickPlay, click on the 2nd icon from left (between DVD and TV icon), then double-click on "HP Pavilion WebCam" from the left side panel, then you will see the blue LED light lit and you should see yourself on the screen. (Double-click "yourself" to enlarge image)

To take a picture or record video, just press the corresponding buttons on the top. (the red circle icon is for recording video (press "Stop" icon to stop recording), the camera icon is for, well, camera)
Videos and pictures are saved at:
Pictures -- C:\Users\Public\Pictures\My Snapshots
Videos -- C:\Users\Public\Videos\HP Webcam

Have Fun!
