What gives tv's that crisp, super sharp picture quality?

The led tv's always advertise the 720p and 1080p, and also the dynamic contrast ratio. Also can someone please tell me what in the world the 2 contrast ratios are? and why do they only advertise the dynamic contrast ratio? Also will the other contrast ratio(i believe called native and always lower)have an effect on the picture quality?

Answer
Dynamic contrast ratio is crap.....Shop and buy on what you think of the picture....They all have similar looks. As for LED TV, it is basically an LCD with different backlighting, and THIN. However, they have the same drawbacks as LCD. Slow response time, poor off to the sides viewing...(As opposed to Plasma, which has a very fast response time, giving you no lag or blurr on fast action and a very wide viewing angle. However for plasma, they are usually 40 inches or larger models.)

How long will an LED tv last? Should I get the Best Buy warranty when buying a new LED Samsung TV?

Is it worth it or a waste of money? What are the chances of a LED breaking down? in a few years?

Answer
LCD lit by LED should out last regular LCD.

Warranties are good idea, but not from Best Buy. I can tell you from personal experience they don't honor them.

They'll promise you the world, but as soon something goes wrong, they won't help.

Really really horrible service.
