The reason I want a sharp TV is because I get 50% off so it will save me a lot of money although I do know there not top of the range.

Hi in my country, the tv transmissions are being tested for migrating to DVB-t from analog. Since I am currently in search for Japanese branded LCD TV (not LED), I want to make sure that it supports this. Can you please tell me which models that you know of supports DVB-T? I am looking to buy a 40". Thank you.

1 ) Any Brand TV is " DVB-T compatible " . is depends which countries you get the TV from ? ##
2 ) all the new TV sold at those countries use DVB-T already built in DVB-T tuner / usually 18 months before switch to DVB-T , all TV sold must built in DVB-T tuner. * except those countries on test *
3 ) if you TV with out DVB -T tuner , you can just by an DVB-T tuner unit and connect via AV / HDMI .after totally swift to digital broadcast. is work with all brand of TV . even you can get an DVB-T converter . Mose of the countries swift to Digital are given DVB-T converter for FREE. USA given ACST converter for FREE during switch over .

if you TRY to buy an TV from other countries , BEWARE of TV system also AC volatge . 110V or 230V ?
even switch to digital , but anolog video decode system remain the same.
i believe you countries is PAL TV system ( 97 % countries use DVB-T is PAL system ) also AC 230 V 50 HZ.
you unable to use any NTSC ( USA ) NTSC j ( Japan ) SECAM ( France ) to PAL TV system countries.
unless you get an WORLD MULTI TV SYSTEM TV MODELS.
